I don't understand why she was (re?)introduced to the show if she acts exactly like Wakaba. I just finished episode 38 so I've gotten through about 6 episodes with her and I don't think she's a worthwhile character. She exists exclusively to show the audience what life would have been like if she had never died and she doesn't add much on her own. She's just a tool to show that the main character is more into Aoba now and that he's forgotten about Wakaba.

Why doesn't this girl have her own personality? Looking like Wakaba doesn't mean she should act like her, too. Ever since she was introduced the show feels just a little bit off. Why not just continue to build on the important characters' relationships instead of pulling this?

This feels like the creator got REALLY high one day and decided to just shove her back into the story, but after sobering up and getting the editions published he's written himself into a rut. I don't see how Wakaba 2.0 is going to contribute to the story

I just opened MAL to see what people think about this bullshit. I watched up to ep 31 so I didnot read your whole post but this element is sooooo cheap and has no point at all!!! The first 30 well so-so but this episode was the most stupid and meaningless I have seen for a while, not to mention the repeated scene of her face and the phrase "do ghosts grow older" I really don't know how I will manage to watch her the rest😑

Couldn't care less, yes it was kinda weird but I enjoyed her character and I'm glad Bakaichi has her <3

Kinda weird, but at the start of the show i thought a good resolution for Wakaba would be reincarnation. And Akane achieved that. So it worked nicely

Victory for Aoba still!

Most other authors would have failed miserably, introducing such a cliched trope, but he manages to blend it so organically into his story, that it comes across as authentic. It's not a random one off shock trope that goes away as fast it as comes, it's there for the remainder of the series.

I love his character writing and interactions so much.

This is quite a spoiler title actually, one could put two and two together here.
