| While I know that this club venue has not been used in a while except to post our weekly movies, I just wanted to post this topic for posterity. What started with three full members (cav9, tainted donut, chaosemperor)has for 46 weeks of movies grown to four full members (moose7100,cav9, tainted donut, chaosemperor), a ghost member(xacess), and a guest member(takohma). All people of different processes that most times brings out the the most extreme, outrageous, and hilarious theories about a movie to the table after a viewing. This year to liven up the club we have tried to add anime type additions to the club, but only two seem to stick, as a club trip (moose7100,cav9, tainted donut, chaosemperor, xacess) went to NY ANIME FESTIVAL on Saturday 26th 2009 and the other objective that stuck was other than our weekly movie, we have added anime series homework (which most of us do and some of us don't...cough,cav9,cough). As for what the 45 weeks of movies boil down to is two movies that everyone was in total agreement on, the best agreed movie was (Tokyo Godfathers) thumbs up all around, the worst agreed movie was (Gake no Ue no Ponyo or Ponyo by the sea). Whether arguing about movies or next gen systems, watching the movies or sleeping thru them, contributing to our online club or not, doing club activites or not, showing up or not, everything was appreciated in the name of anime. now my personal thank you listing for the year. Thank you Cav9 for the use of your house and hosting the club week after week, he has been a great guy for as along as I've known him. Thank you Tainted donut for your anime info, series usage and being a stand up guy all around. Thank you Xacess for the time you made in your busy life to come to the meetings, funny moments / comments that you brought to the table, and your generosity with meals and the such. Thank you Moose7100 also for the time you made in your busy life to come to the meetings, being a laid back / easygoing/ heck of a cool guy, being a good sport when we start to play video games, and most of all for coming to the NY festival when you weren't doing so well, it wouldn't have been the same without you. Thank you Takohma for trying to make it to the club and for making the Playstation 3 the highest selling system in the universe...ok maybe not, but keep trying and one day it might come true. |
