I often find myself searching my list for a certain category throughout all of the animes that i've watched for a friend, my friends tend to be picky in the anime they watch like "pure action" or "mostly comedy" which i have a hard time looking for those type of animes, if i was able to narrow the animes i search by category it would help alot.

Hi,

One way to sort anime would be through the tags feature. To enable the tags column, go here and check the box beside 'tags' under anime and/or manga. Then, the next time you go to your list, you should see a new editable box—that's where you enter your tags, which you can then click on to sort your list by.

This is an example of sorting using my friend's anime list, for instance. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Also, you can have that column filled automatically with the help of some of these userscripts:

Alternatively, you can also use this one:

You'll need to go through registration there though

That isn't exactly what i wanted, what i wanted is the GENRE of an Anime, putting a tag on every Anime on my list would take too much time and i don't think it's worth the effort... thanks anyways

Thanks ! this is exactly what i wanted ! it would be great if MAL implented this feature tho...

Not much at all if you use one of the userscripts that fills it in automatically
