| Aria Walking past the door in the hallway she noticed it was still cracked open. Peering in she sees Athalos and opened the door quietly as she stood in the doorway listening to their conversation. |
| "Of course Emperor" she croaked anew. The sound of water sloshing was heard and five minutes later se opened the door in a fluffy bathrobe, her lips slightly blue and her hair had been purposely pulled over her eyes still wet "How may I help the Emperor?" she spoke with no real vigor behind her voice, after all, pride, not the kingdom, pride was more important than her. |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He sat down on her bed and patted the sheets next to him. |
| She didnt move from where she was, just stood there waiting. |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He looked at her, his eyes pleading. Please Lirael. |
| Aria She continued to quietly watch and listen to see what would happen |
| "Why?" she stated simply still not looking at him "Im sure you have a pride to maintain, why now and not twenty minutes ago?" He hadnt stopped her when she left the room, why try to come and find her now? it was illogical. She hadnt seen her mother in the doorway either |

| Without saying anything she simply sat down, her elbows resting on her knee's, slouching while her feet dangled idly of the edge of the bed, her face still hid by her bangs, now even more since she had tilted her head forward when she rested her elbows on her knees |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He leans back on his hands and closes his eyes, I've been wanting to speak with you like this for a while now, never got the chance but now in the midst of all that's happening, it seems that time is finally in my favor. Lirael, I don't want to marry you off to be honest, I want you to live how you want to live, but unfortunately we were born into this blood line. Every day of my life, I've told myself, 'make time for her, go see Lirael', but each day I didn't make that time. I'm blessed to have Aria and you, I don't want to see you married off to some horse loving narcissist from the grasslands, but we don't have a choice. I want you to know that if you should ever need me, no matter what, just ask and I will do anything I can to help you. If you want to spend time with me, you just ask me, and I'll know that my little girl wants me, I'll push those pesky nobles away. I wish I told you all this earlier as it probably will not have an effect now. I love you Lirael, so does your mother, we always have. He then opens his arms, seeing if she would accept the hug, something he had never done before. |
| Lirael looked at him now, eyes wide, then she looked around her room, her eyes darting from corner to corner, this must be a joke, there must be painters somewhere. she didnt see anything, so why, why had there been this sudden change in demeanour? In this one speech he had said more than in several years now. "Father" she said in a small voice, her lower lip trembling. This must be the feeling that her master had talked about. Slowly as if he would disappear when she touched him she inched over to him and corresponded with the hug. it felt nice and warm on the contrary to how she was feeling right now. She sniffled slightly into his shoulder and closed her eyes |
| Aria She smiles watching the two of them. "I'm glad you're getting along" She said walking into the room towards them. "It's been awhile since i've seen you two this close." |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He hugged her tight against himself, a small tear leaving his eye as he hugged his daughter for the first time. |
| "daddy.." she whispered in a small voice, savouring the word, yet it was all for naught since in several hours she would be married |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He closed his eyes when she said that one word, a word that held so much meaning. He opened his eyes once more and looked at Aria with a smile. |

| she didnt want to let go, yet finally she pulled away looking away, cheeks slightly flushed with embarrassments and her eyes tinged slightly red still, was that even supposed to be proper? |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He smiled at her and got up from the bed, Remember what I said, he says with a serious expression, whenever you want me, just call. I'll leave you to get ready. |
| Aria She kept a smile on her face watching this rare moment |
| "Yes father" she said now looking up at him still sitting on the side of the bed |
| Emperor Althalos Benedict He smiles once more and walks to the door of the room, putting his hand on the handle and then opening it. He walks outside and gestures for his wife to follow, Come along Aria. |
| Aria "If you need help with getting ready let me know." She said as she followed out of the room |
| Liarei let out a sigh the moment they left, had everything that had just happened been a dream? No, it couldn't have been since she was still cold so she went about getting ready |
| The bell begins to sound throughout the city, the signal to go and join the procession that will welcome King Elendere and his family. |
| After a few minutes of walking Lirael finally reached her room and quietly entered. She then passed a hand through her hair to get rid of any knots since she rarely used a combed. She didd this while she rummaged through her wardrobe for a suitable dress she that would hopefully not incur the wrath of her mother. Once dressed she washed her face, still feeling the tingling sensation on her lips that wouldnt go away no matter how much she washed them again and again and again |
