Has Mushishi Inspired You in Your Life?
| How has Mushishi inspired you in your life? Has it changed your outlook on life? Make you appreciate nature? Believe in what cannot be seen? Change the way you think about people? Change the way you feel about people? Change the way you feel about yourself? Or did it just transport you to another world? Also, could it have inspired you in a creative way? | It has indeed inspired me in my life, but I think more accurately, it matches my personal outlook on life and has enhanced it somewhat. I read "Buddhism Without Beliefs" as a teenager, and began meditating and practicing mindfulness. Mushishi encapsulates that feeling that comes with years of practice; the space you notice between everything, the natural patience and appreciation of slowing life down and living in the moment. It's without doubt my favourite anime, and even TV show in general (as well as Twin Peaks!) for this and many other reasons. |
