No here also. For one it's not really my personal connection. For another, I'm currently exploiting it for ... umm.... anime activities.

Thought-to-self:{Hmmm.... no-one's around, good, good.}

You can stop looking at me with that weird look, I'm addicted to anime, ok ? I can't help myself!

Yeah we cant argue about this now can we....more money=more speed..that's the rule for all ISP's ...btw BSNL 's service isnt as bad as people say it is..atleast it's better than Indicom and reliance!!

I will NEVER touch "BSNL" with a 10-foot long pole if I can help it. I HATE their telephone service and practically revolted at my father when he suggested using them for our home internet some years back.

I have no idea how Indicom is but I use the broadband TATA-VSNL and I love it! Their customer service is in a class of its own (At least in my area) !!

Heck, I hate BSNL so much, I was up in arms against my superiors when it was suggested to use them for our office net. In the end I had to compromise. We ordered a BSNL line but at the same time requested for a VSNL one. The VSNL one came and there are times when it's jittery, but at least a complaint call and a few hours of wait, we get the net back.

As for the BSNL line, it's more than 2 months and those ***** still haven't installed it. And I still hate them.

in my city we have some other major ISPs but they are monopolized by a single cable operator and the service is worst, downtime = very bad, even cyber cafes affected stays shut down for 2 - 3 days when outage occurs

BSNL is the only option i have got because others have refused to give me a cabled connection because they say they will have to put a lot of wires to my area which will cost them a lot and they wont do it :( and the wimax is still in testing phase so cant really rely on that + its too costly for the equips, BSNL is at least affordable and running smoothly here at my place

BTW

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today indicated that the Government should redefine broadband services making it mandatory for operators to offer at least 2Mbps speed.

According to existing norms, broadband is defined with speed of only 256 kbps.

Speaking at a telecom seminar organised by Assocham, Dr J. S. Sarma, Chairman, TRAI, said that the target set for roll out of broadband by the Government can be achieved only if the definition of broadband is redefined and resources from USO fund are utilised.

Dr Sarma said that while there are countries which offer speeds of over 20Mbps, India is still stuck at 256 kbps.

Changing the definition of broadband will have major ramification for operators if they want to claim subsidy from the Government.

If offering a minimum of 2Mbps speed is made mandatory, operators will have to ramp up their network.

“We do not think it is feasible to move from 256 kbps to 2Mbps in one shot. If at all the definition has to be revised then they should move to 512kbps, otherwise it will be too costly for both operators and subscribers,” said a GSM player.

However, the WiMax industry is backing the proposal.

According to WiMax players, the technology will enable operators to offer more than 2Mbps of wireless broadband services.
