| "Where?!" "I'm aware of that." Said Adam. "Really?" Lucas hissed. "I don't think so." He grabbed Adam's shirt and slammed him down against the table smashing the bottles on top of it. Adam grimaced as a piece of glass jammed into his shoulder. Lucas smelled the blood. 'Oh no.' He thought. 'No.' |
| "Who the hell are you?!" Adam exclaimed. He saw Josef. "What? You're supposed to be dead!" "Dead?" Lucas hissed. "That's what he told you is it?" |
| "Comforting." Adam shot back. "This idiot tried to kill me." Lucas said, annoyed. "You're already dead." Adam replied. |
| "But you're a vampire!" Adam exclaimed. "And you're my cousin!" Lucas shot back. |
| ''Let go of me." Adam said harshly. "You going to try and kill me again?" Asked Lucas. "You're a monster." |
| "Yeah, well look at him." |
| "Imagine that being the last thing an innocent person ever saw before they died. The face of a devil." Adam spat. |
| "You might not but he does." Said Adam. "Who told you that?" Asked Lucas. "No one has to. You reek of it." |
| "Well," said Josef, "this would be a good time to point out he obviously doesn't." "Gee, what made you guess?" Said Lucas. |
| "Don't get so caught up with yourself. I'm human, unlike you three." Adam said. "Somehow I doubt that." |
| "Ridiculous." Adam protested. |
| "If I wasn't human I'd seem like a complete hypocrite." |
| "You two know me and you know I'm not a hypocrite." "Two years ago I wouldn't have guessed you'd skewer me with a sharp piece of wood so I can't validate that." Lucas replied. "I'm not lying!" Adam shouted. |
| "I'd never be anything like you and still be alive. I'd sooner have killed myself." "I bet that's just Joshua talking, isn't it?" Said Lucas. |
| "I'd hate to think." Adam replied. "What makes you so high and mighty anyway?" Lucas. "You don't even know what it's like so you can't go saying who should die and who shouldn't." |
| "You're a danger, Lucas. I'm sorry, but I don't have a choice." "Is that what Joshua told you?" Lucas asked, scowling. Adam didn't reply. |
| "Notice your lack of presence when he staked me in the chest." "Do you know what my dad would do to me if I didn't?" Asked Adam. "He only gave you those invitations to lure you here. Same with Alistair." |
| "You didn't need to kill me." Lucas said angrily. |
| "So I guess then you're going to return the favour?" Adam said. "No, are you stupid? Of course not." |
| "So then what? You think my Dad's just going to let you walk out?" |
| "He's going to try and do whatever he can to make sure you don't get out." |
| "But he's already succeeded." |
| "He put a seal around the house. Anyone that isn't human can't get out." |
| "You seem sure of yourself." Said Adam. "Handy thing, confidence. You should try and use more of it if you ever want to kill a vampire for real." Said Lucas. "Now, shouldn't we do something about that cut of yours so you don't bleed out?" "No, don't touch me." Adam protested. "None of you." He pulled and managed to free himself of Gwen's hold. |
| "I'm fine okay?" Adam said. "Do what you want, but don't think you're getting out. Sorry cousins, but you don't stand a chance." He walked past Josef in the doorway and left without looking back at them once. "Does all our family have to end up psychotic?" Josef asked. "Apparently." |
