A bit of a gripe regarding Funimation. This is more expensive than Crunchyroll. And their apps and website have so many issues it's not funny. And despite their FAQ stating they have Premium and Premium plus subscriptions. Normal Premium doesn't seem to be available in New Zealand. They also didn't bother contacting me by email when they announced their price change like they did for Crunchyroll. But honestly, who the hell thinks charging more for a significantly worse service is ever a good idea? I wish they hadn't bought AnimeLab off Madman so that Australia and NZ could at least have one streaming service that we could call our own and didn't have so many issues. |

| There's going to be an incredible amount of snow this weekend. They've put out a Lake Effect snow warning: Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 feet in the most persistent lake snows...The heaviest snow is expected late this evening through Friday night when snowfall rates could exceed 3 inches per hour. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce patchy blowing snow. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. The heavy snow could also bring down some tree limbs and cause scattered power outages. Worst of all... They moved the football game to Detroit!! |

The game mechanics don't move as far in the direction of Legends:Arceus as I would have liked, but overall, it seems to be a solid entry, performance issues notwithstanding. In other news, I finally sold my E46 over the weekend. After almost 7 years, it was the end of an era... Sad to see it go. But at least it's done and I can move on. I felt paralyzed waiting for one of the two to sell. |

Yikes, that's the kind of thing that would send me into a panic, really good to hear it wasn't as bad as it might've been. And.. I really can't recall what kind of car they're selling. I know it was really popular back in the 70s, but I've never been much of a car guy (my brother is, though). I can change my oil or a tire or a power steering belt and stuff like that, but so long as it gets from point A to B, preferably with automatic transmission, I don't pay much mind to what flavor most of them are. I'll ask next time I see him. Over in game land, I was a programmer - a generalist, so I hit everything from input to build processes & automated testing to tools to graphics, sometimes all on the same project. I'd frequently get sent out to do optimization work or other support for external developers when I wasn't doing specific development. They made me a lead for a while at LucasArts, but I hated that, I'm much more comfortable doing things and making schedules than trying to tell others to do things. |

I have the browser plug-in for Firefox, but the buttons are light-years ahead of that in usability. And the way you can toggle "View Source" and the browser remembers your preference every time you post, it's almost like being back on the CR boards (with the exception of the smileys). |

| I've got a few questions regarding making polls on topics here. How many options per poll can we put up, and is it possible for one person to vote for more than one option on said poll? When the Funimation forums were still running, I hosted a forum tournament for best character of the year. I decided to use the scoring format of the Anime/Manga Character Face-Off thread for that tournament. Then when the forums shut down, I moved to the Discord channel and pitched the idea there, but now the channel doesn't do tournaments of any kind anymore because the hosts there thought doing them constantly was too much of a hassle. So I'd like to pitch my tournament idea here, and I'd like to do polls if possible this time. My questions are meant to determine whether I can condense topics. |

| I honestly love the start of snowfalls out here. It's so warm that it's not so much snowflakes falling as tiny snowballs, can feel the impact when they hit. Hoping it won't get the potential 8" of accumulation, but for now, I'll enjoy the scenery. |

After brainstorming what makes us distinctive as a club, it was decided our season-long anime threads (as opposed to the episodic discussion format here on MAL) was something that set us apart and could be leaned into for rebranding. I guess that wasn't so short, lol. |

| I just now noticed this but holy crap, CR finally fixed the goddamn language selection by allowing you to change it in the episodes rather than categorizing it by "seasons". About damn time. |

| That was long overdue, and this is one of the reasons why the Funimation interface was so much better than Crunchyroll's at the time they rebranded. Everything was easy to find and convenient to switch up on the fly. It used drop-down menus for the seasons, language, and subtitle preferences. Instead, we need to play a different video entirely, and it was especially inconvenient for shows with long titles where I needed to scroll through the entirety of the title to see what language I'm watching a show in. |
