| People love basic stuff. For example, the first episode of devilman crybaby is a rushed version with much worse story, art and animation of the old OVA. If you want to see a proper adaptation of the first volume, just check out Devilman: Tanjou-hen, the 40 minute ova from 1987. To compare, this show tried to do 1 volume of the manga in 20 minutes, even though the 40 minute one was already missing some exposition. If I were the creator of the devilman manga, id hate this anime so much because of how much it butchers the original story. I get its a reimagining, but its completely rushed and didnt even try to explain things, in favor of looking "cool" and easier to animate. |
