Its not a masterpiece but its not overhyped either. The only ones who say it is overhyped are idiots who think hype=quality.

i'd say its overhyped considering many ppl label it as the GOAT shonen ,, or already calling it AOTY without the season even dropping

its average at best , mid at moments , dope and unique in other moments ,, overall a clusterfuck with many asspulls and unexplained plotholes

I gave it a 6.5 ,, but I'll read Pt. 2 when it drops

Depends on what you're looking for going into it. You see, I personally don't need an expertly crafted story, nor do I need something that is familiar or caters to all my desires. The kind of art I respect most now is the kind that is unapologetically itself, and chainsaw man is just that. It's unique and does what it wants to do and that's a more fun and genuine experience than an author trying too hard to be clever or friendly to viewer expectations. Chainsawman subverts those expectations at every turn, and its very refreshing after having the same copy and paste shonen for so long.
