Why do we have to watch Stay Night before Zero?

The reproduction is up over at Nyaa (320k, not lossless but not bad either).

Best way to describe them compared to the original is ..crunchier I guess? The original were really muddy, and the ones that uses E-guitar cops the worst of it

PSVITA ost is beyond awesome. Huge improvements to all the tracks, especially Mighty Wind and Emiya.

Well newcomers 4 years from now will enjoy Fate/+Ufotable more than current viewers.

Except the whole viewpoint that Nasu FORCED onto them is to NOT treat it as sequel so nope.

I am talking about secondaries that dont plan to read the Vn or wait for HF to end.

Read this if you want to start the Fate/ series but don't know from where.

I thought the Emiya remix was the least improved actually. The wail aside, there isn't any noticeable difference to the Realta Nua one. Same for Golden King

Speaking of OST, I wonder if they can get the guy that did Mahoyo's to do FSN. I really like the style (reminds me of the Street Fighter music), and it has at least twice the amount of unique tracks to SN at 1/3 the length

EDIT: Nvm, apparently he IS doing the BGM for UBW at least. And he is the lead composer for SF4 as well.

Well, this thread is pretty old but I'll offer two reasons that most people haven't provided yet:

1) The original FSN anime was made like 10 years ago or something. It's a bit dated in terms of it's pacing and it's animation quality. This is sort of like playing a sequel to a game and then backtracking afterwards - the older one is probably not going to be as enjoyable if you tackle it second. This reason is incredibly subjective though, I personally vastly prefer the F/Z anime adaptation to the FSN fate route adaptation in terms of pacing and animation, among other things. Watching FSN first is the safest bet to avoiding this.

2) IMO, F/Z is a better story when you know it's inevitable conclusion. This is the same sort of thing Shakespeare did with Romeo and Juliet. A lot of the drama in the story is in the struggle between a character's ideals/dreams/aspirations/happiness and the viewer's knowledge of the conclusion. There are a lot of plot points in this story that would have a lesser impact on you on a first time viewing if you weren't aware of where the story was going to inevitably end up(again, in my opinion). I admit it's possible that I am just a sucker for 'struggling against hopeless odds and beating fate' sorts of stories though.
