| "I'll get it," said Adam, getting up. When he opened the door, standing there was a short boy, who looke maybe fourteen or fifteen. He had curly dark hair, and hazel eyes. "h-hi," he said. "Does Josef Black live here?" |
| Adam raised an eyebrow. "Who are you?" He asked. "My name is Danael," he said. "Daniel?" Adam questioned. "No, Danael," the boy repeated. "Anyway, you're not Josef Black, are you?" "No," Adam replied. |
| "R-right," Josef said, pishing his chair back and getting up. "I'm Josef," he said. The boy smiled. "Oh, good! I need to ask you something." "Okay, what is it?" "Have you seen any angels around here?" |
| "Angels?" Josef said. "Sorry kid, I think you have the wrong house. Only vampires, demons and werewolves here." |
| "I'm not mistaken," said Danael. "You were very near him when he came down to Earth. The pretty vampire girl was too." |
| "It's quite pretty when an angel cones down to earth," Danael continued. "Do you know what happens?" "I have a feeling you're about to tell us," Adam interjected. Danael seemed to ignore him. "When an angel comes down to Earth, it's like a strike of blue lightning hotting the ground. It's quite beautiful." |
| "It only happened recently," said Danael. "I suppose I thought you'd have seen it since it was very bear your uncle's house," |
| "What?" Josef and Adam asked simultaneously. Danael smiled. "I knew one of you must have an idea," he said. |
| "No way..." Said Josef. "But he's...you know, him. And a vampire." |
| "He must have chosen this Alistair person for his vessel," said Danael. "His what?" Adam asked. "Angels don't have a physical form like humans do; when they come to earth they must borrow one. But, if your friend was dead at the time that could be problematic." "Problematic how?" Josef asked. "I couldn't say for sure," Danael replied. |
| "It's never happened as far as I'm aware," Danael said. |
| "It's not meant to sound good," Danael said. "It's bad enough my friend ended up with a vampire, but a dead vampire..." And at this time Alistair and Evangeline are arriving. |
| "Is there a problem here?" Alistair asked, glancing at Danael. "No, no problem," Danael said, smiling. I should go. I'm sorry to have bothered you." |
| "Why? There's not much I can do here," Danael said. "No way you have some serious explaining to do!" Josef protested. |
| "Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt, bylut it may take a while," said Danael. "Then you better come inside..." Alistair replied. |
| Danael sighed, seeming mildly annoyed. "Honestly there isn't much to say. I'm sure all of you have noticed the..increasing presence of demons lately." "That's an understatement," Alistair said flatly. "Yes, well, I was sent here with my sister, Anael, and another angel named Nathanael to see what was causing such a disturbance. But, in coming down here to Earth we were separated. I don't know where my sister is, but I found where Nathanael had touched down here; right atop your friend Alistair's grave." "Well that sounds interesting," said Alistair. "This kid, angel..whatever...he said you're an angel," Adam said. "Are you feeling particularly angelic?" "Definitely not." Alistair replied. "Your friend is not an angel," Danael cut in, "but one is inhabiting his body, which is why he is still alive." |
| "But...shouldn't your buddy, nathanael or whatever...be in control then?" Alistair asked, concerned. "Am I gonna have to take the backseat in my own body?" "It seems he was not able to gain control over you, since you were dead. And in bringing life back to you it seems he also restored your soul to your body," Danael replied. "I may have to draw him out so I can speak with him." "Like hell," Alistair said. |
| "I know it would be uncomfortable for you but I have to talk to him. We were sent here for a reason," Danael said. "And if he leaves your body to take another vessel you will most likely die." |
| Danael seemed unaffected by her outburst. "I'm only making an assumption. Since he was dead before Nathanael found him, it seems only likely that if Nathanel leaves he will--" "ALL RIGHT well let's not make assumptions," Alistair interrupted. "I have my on priorities besides your...angel stuff. I don't really care what you or your buddies want." Danael crossed his arms. "How ungrateful." |
| "Oh well, I suppose Nathanael will find a way to control you eventually; I'll just have to wait." Danael said simply. To this, Alistair was silent. |
| "That IS what I initially wanted,'' said Danael. "Just get out," said Adam, annoyed. Danael shrugged, stepping out the door. "We will see each other again," he said, leaving. |
| After he was gone, Alistair shut the door. "Well, now we know why I'm up and about," he said tiredly. |
| "Neither do I,'' Alistair agreed. "he could be lying?" Adam offered. |
| "Well if I really do have an angel in my head I want to find a way to make sure he doesn't try anything." |
| "No fucking clue." |
