easily the best isekai lol what?
Mushoku Tensei is objectively superior than Rezero.
Let's see Re:Zero has
- Superior Writing (no inconsistency, no forced plot, no plot holes, no plot armor)
- Superior Characters (each one of them is unique, has their own motivations, has their own goal, has their own opinions, has their own growth)
- Superior World & Lore (Re:Zero mystery style lorebuilding around Stars, World, Witches etc. far superior than any generic MT concept)
- Superior Story (Re:Zero each arc different than each other and has amazing story in each arc, everything connected to each other)
- Better Character Development (Each Re:Zero character changes through the story while Rudeus stays the same entire novel)
- Better Musics & OSTs
- Better Voice Acting
want me go on? I can't think single thing MT is better lmao.
its amazing how wrong can one person be.
let me break down your bubble and summarise some bits for you in bullet points.
1) The animation is objectively inferior to MT.
2) The world building is almost non existent compared to MT.
3) The characters were uninteresting and flat, they all felt mechanical and had zero humane touch to them except Subaru.
The development is superficial, the dialogues were boring and pretentious.
4) The setting was boring and uninspired, the battle choreography was terrible(the whale fight for instance).
5) The shows attempt at comedy were completely pathetic.
6)The ending of the Anime was underwhelming.
7) Plot Holes?
The anime didn't explain two major plot points.
a) why can't he describe his situation by writing down on a paper?
b) why did he get reincarnated at the first place?
Plot armour?
He gets away everytime with his blunders just because he has the return by death ability, unlike MT where actions have actual consequences. Instead of getting a 'fuck off' as a reaction to his attitude, everything orbits around him, which is utter nonsense.
8) The romance is awkward and out of place.
9) No clear picture about the plot progression and the significance of some characters.
10)Music and OSTS are subjective opinion, unlike some other criteria.
Overall, it's a decent show at best(an above average isekai with a cool concept) but is nowhere near as great as the fanboys claim it to be.
MT however is rightfully called the grandfather of the isekai genre, because it's special and deserved to be called so.
