Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Discussion

I don't know hasn' t it been established he is already the most powerful magic user at the school? How much more OP do you want him to get? He already said at the beginning he was invited to pretty much do self study and there isn't much written about what he wants to learn and so little oppurtunity to advance in his study of it.
The whole point of this arc is for him to screw around at school (like with the animal girls and demon lord and his figure building apprentice and his slave) which he has all while stringing the Sylpgie thing along and teasing us with when she will finally get the balls (or lose them?) to tell him.

So what if he's the strongest among the students? We know there are a lot more powerful people out there running around. And you don't go to a magic school to learn stuff from the students. I want to see him try saint level spells from the other elements. I want to see him try out king class, or higher, level spells. Even if none of the teachers are king level there should be some books with those spells in them like the ones he first learned. He's going to class to learn about barriers so let's see what he's learned. At one point he said, "The more I learn about summoning," so OK, what has he learned? Even if it's not much it would be nice to see some details. I don't expect them to cover everything I just mentioned, but we haven't even got a whiff of what he might have learned. And when did he figure out disturb magic? All of a sudden he knew how to do it. Give us something about the process of his magical progression besides just 'now he can do this thing.'

It's not about him being op--ok maybe it is a little--it's about his progression. That's why he works at it every day. It's an opportunity to do some world building on the magic system of the world and it's being wasted.

@zkeleton The dispel/disturb magic whatever was used against him by the dragon sword guy who almost killed him. He then tried recreating it himself after.

Maybe the next arc will focus on something aside from Rudy's dick.

Unfortunately the marriage part was ruined for me by a youtube thumbnail some time ago. :( All I could do at that point was set that channel to never be recommended to me again.

I saw the thing with Nanahoshi coming quite a ways out so that was no surprise for me either. I didn't think about how Rudy would freak out when he saw her though, so that was unexpected.

I wonder how/when Sylphie found out about her parents dying. I don't think they would have put that in there if she didn't know that for sure though. Rudy's lucky that his whole family survived.

I hope Rudy tells Sylphie about being from another world now. She might not know what to think about a lot of it, but it would at least put her mind at ease about him working with Nanahoshi. With the way she reacted to Rudy when she came back to his room I'm guessing he told her the whole story about his 'problem,' Eris included.

Overall this season was uneven, but they way it wrapped up between him and Sylphie helped it finish on high note. It was really nice to see Sylphie being Sylphie again.

Didn't Ariel say she would use her power to help Sylphie find her family? I think her reaction to Nanahoshi also pointed to the fact that she knew they were dead.

As for Rudy, I guess it was a little luck and also the fact that his parents and Lillia were all adventurers, so probably had a much better chance of surviving.


Yeah, I've had some game plots ruined by people who get the game early and put out spoiler thumbnails on Youtube.

@HOOfan_1 Both his parents being adventurers definitely helped. Roxy having association with that prince saved the maid and his young siblings were both touching a parent. So all in all, the only one who survived through pure luck was Sylphie.

You know, it's great to see these characters happy and I realize this is the culmination of two seasons worth of plot, but...if this is all this show is going to be anymore this has become super boring. Granted for a "haunted" house episode that was better than most anime haunted house episodes but geez is that really what this show has come to? Let's get on with the next big plot arc already. <_<

@MenchiK1 I honestly haven't mustered the will to start watching it this season. I grew tired of it when last season de-evolved into Rudy just trying to get his dick hard at school.

Yeah I really hope (pardon the pun) the author didn't blow his entire load on the first season and from now on just focuses on mundane crap to keep the story going. Sometimes becoming popular is a author's worst enemy <cough> Berserk <cough>. They get put under pressure to put out more content and so just keep dragging out mediocre garbage hoping they'll be inspired to write something as good as their original story before everyone gets bored and loses interest and they can no longer ride the coat tails of their original idea. Really wish more authors would write the ending of their stories first.

@MenchiK1 Pretty sure he finished the whole thing in about two years, so it wasn't stretched out or anything like that.

Well that was better than I expected, didn't see the Elinalise thing coming at all. 8O Too bad none of their family or Roxy could be there. Guess we'll soon find out who the maids are in the ED and promo art. (given Rudy's dad I think Sylphie should have went with butlers).

Ooohhhh duh >_< been too long between seasons. Well no wonder Sylphie won't mind.

We have people avoiding the opening/ending so wrap those in spoilers please.

Amazing how episodes of this show can still seem like they are only 5 minutes long (even with an OP and ED added) yet others the same length seem a long slog to get through.
