I'm aware that it goes bad after Anno leaves the director's seat, but his economy of style makes it a low-budget pleasure, even if the story itself seems to me like fairly typical shoujo/teen romance. Its vague similarities to Evangelion and FLCL, as the show that bridged the gap between those two, are what really interest me... Guess I'll have to see how I feel about its ending. |
| most people I've talked to just don't include the last eps when rating the series as a whole. the approach they took just had such an odd vibe when placed with the previous episodes, it was crash and burn imo |
