So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Just got around to read few LN chapters of this series, and man i disliked it already. I usually don't really mind cliches, but if they're executed so badly like in this series, i ended up yawning. While i liked the male lead for not being the typical wimpy and characterless harem lead like countless harem out there, the heroines (particularly the twintail-red-haired-girl) left sour taste in my mouth, mainly because how badly they're handled as characters and their knack to go about with the inconsistencies and plot conveniences that usually i can only find in fanfic. The setting is boring since it's merely a convenient excuse so the MC can bait the girls and make harem (same reason that makes Infinite stratos a yawning experience for me), and while the fantasy aspects are fascinating and imaginative, sadly they tend to break my suspension of disbelief too often, to the point that i gave up thinking about 'em and started getting lulz. Might watch it just for the lulz, though i'm not going to take it seriously |

Slice of Life means something that happens in the every day life, while Fantasy is something that doesn't. It is something more. The series that include both of the genres probably start by the main character living a normal life and then learning something or obtaining something over-the-usual. Again, I do not think that is a rare case, it is just funny to compare the definitions of both. In any way, I am a fan of both, so I am looking forward to the release date of the show. |

It follows pretty standard light novel format with first half being harem/comedy antics while the later half of the volume focusing on action and plot advancement like Index and Highschool DxD. Claire is super annoying but only vol 1 focus on her. vol 2 & 3 focus on a different heroine. Later volumes also have less Claire. I just hope the new viewers can bare with claires stupidity for the first few epsiodes until it gets to vol2. |

SubPyroFlow said: I don't agree that slice of life in fantasy world is "only fantasy" when it is clearly both "slice of life" and "fantasy". Slice of life can be slice of fantasy life, slice of SF life, slice of ancient life. It is just a term to describe the everyday life of the people living in the story world. The term "slice of life" should not be limited to describe settings of the present day real world. Hence no contradiction between fantasy and slice of life. Any perception of contradiction is just misreading what the term slice of life means. symbv said: Everyday life in a Fantasy world could be said as only Fantasy as well, wouldn't you agree?SubPyroFlow said: You forgot there is something called "everyday life in fantasy world". If everyday life in something unusual is Slice of Life, then tell me, what kind is not Slice of Life? From what you say, everything is more or less actually Slice of Life. You think there is no slice of life in fantasy world? I am sure there are people in the world of Shrek, Snow White, Zettai Bouei Leviathan, or PreCure who lead some mundane everyday life there. Even a fighter or a magician could have some mundane things like practicing a fight or a magic, and story that takes place in such a setting would be considered slice-of-life. Slice of Life, on the other hand, does not necessarily have to discuss anything regarding school, just the usual, everyday life of the characters. I hope this helps. ;) |

Is there any news on how many of the volumes are expected to be adapted to anime. I hope its not going to be a 12 episode season. I started reading this the other day and I'm on volume 5 now and to find out its getting an anime adaptation was the best news yet! Though I'm sure most people are more excited than me, I've still got much left to read. No doubt Claire's Voice actor will be Rie Kugimiya. |
