| I don't want my waifu to be tainted by the 3D world... So I would rather not think about bringing them to life .. 2D should always be virtual otherwise it has no meaning... Personally I like the idea of the hologram waifu thing very much ... And I bet it is gonna sell like hot cakes irrespective of the price (There are rich 12 y/o kids everywhere) Lets just hope this technology becomes more affordable and more common future... Even if you dislike the waifu part... Its really convenient.. |
| There are two women in anime who highly appeal to me. Holo from Spice and Wolf; and Inori from Guilty Crown. I find the appeal of a "waifu" or anime crush, whatever you'd like to call it, is that you identify in those characters the traits you'd aspire to find in a real woman. I've never treated the girls that appealed to me in anime as anything more than fascinating characters in a show. If I was given the chance to come into contact with them, through the means of virtual reality; I'd pry give a shot, out of interest (by contact I just mean meeting them) but that'd be about it. I could not knowingly form a bond with that which is not human or real. Especially being a Computer Science student; it's clear the reality of the situation isn't me with a girl whom I'm interested in, it's me together with pre-constructed code probably written by a Software Developer. I personally have never felt anime women can replace a real relationship with a real person. I think to fall into such an idea is to fall into a fantasy, which could therefore prevent you from experiencing the reality of relationships and the like. // Side-Note: If, however, one of the girls were to meet me in real life, as a real person, and I had no prior knowledge of them from anime; then I'd be totally down for that. Games/softwares/Virtual world is just reduced to codes and removes some of the fascinating charms about these kind of stuff.. I remember I used to play games with no knowledge of how it is made and everything , It seemed more magical , But being a software student it feels like just telling a dumb machine what to do... |
