Edward Pherae

A small vibration filled the silent room. Seconds started to pass slower and slower, almost coming to a stop. From a point near the entrance, the room started to lose its color. Changing it to a grayscaled, unnatural palette for the room. Then, amidst the silence, a dark gash started to appear in the air. The gash started to open, revealing two figures in the middle of a conversation.
"I'm still confused on how did you even managed to do this..." Said the figure covered in a robe "Like I told you, They took my memories of it in exchange for allowing me to do this" the other man said, intrigued "They?... Well, it's still a pretty cheap price if you ask me" The man chuckled "Trust me, the price has more complexity than just that. I just can't tell anyone" Knowing full well that time travel was quite the feat, especially for a mortal, he decided to leave it at that. The robed figure turned to the lone person beyond the time fracture."So much, just for her?" he asked, knowing to some extent all the trouble this man had gone through just to be back at some apocalyptic mess. "I'd do this at any cost..." Edward said, stepping into the room, slowly. He turned to the dullahan and pulled out a large coin with an extremely intricate design out of one of his pockets, tossing it to him. The dullahan caught it, and examined it, puzzled once again. "Give that to your Master, he'll know what to do with it... Goodbye, Johann" Johann nodded, and turned away from the fracture. "Goodbye".
The fracture slowly closed, the vibration stopped, and the grayscale slowly gave way to the natural color of the room. Edward turned back to the only other person in the room. The familiar figure brought a tear to his eye. "I'm back" he mumbled, not wanting to wake her up rudely, the change in appearance certainly wouldn't help, so he just laid on the floor, next to the bed.
He pondered if she'll ever wake up. If things went right, he shouldn't have messed time up that bad, and she'll wake soon... But, if he did, he just got himself stuck in time. Not that it mattered, he at least had a chance to see her in person. Not a bad place to be stuck for eternity, time passing by without him, but he'll be forever in this beautiful memory. |
