Velvet Kiss - It's adult themed with smut and romance, drama, but it has a great story. I was super surprised at this.

That was one of my first uploads on KAT. Really good one.
If you liked that one, give Nozoki Ana a try. Nozomi x Kimio is not bad either.

just started my very first manga: xxxHOLiC. am reading it at mangapanda. I'm kinda surprised at how closely the art in the anime matches the manga so far. except that Yuuko looks decidedly younger in the manga.

am only on the 4th chapter though, so it's going to take me forever to get through it all because there's over 200 chapters. do you guys always read the manga of the anime you watch (if there is one)? if so, do you usually start with the anime or the manga?

Not that I read many manga titles... :)

I do not always. If I really like anime, I'll start reading manga as well (Kimi no Iru Machi, Suzuka, IS, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia,...).
So yes, I usually start with anime, before reading the manga (Manga turns out to be much better 95% of the time. :D.).

I have found that is true with 99% of the movies that are based on books as well.

probably I won't become deep into manga because my brain still has not completely accepted reading "books" on the computer. if there is a physical book in my hands and I dig it, I will read for hours. if it's on the computer though, I will only read for like an hour at a time and then have to force myself to finish it. it's like I get bored with them...

Same thing happened to me when I started my first manga (Beelzebub). But, I had only my uncle's laptop for a whole month and I could only surf the net and read stuff on it. No playing games or watching movies and I slept in the part of the house where there was no Wifi signal so I REALLY got into manga. So, I'm not bothered by reading on my PC anymore - but, this only applies to manga. :D

I was just looking at some of the manga that has been uploaded at KAT and it seems most of it is rared and there were no descriptions of what kind of files were inside. the ones I could find unrared were .png or .jpg, but those seemed to be almost completely in Japanese.

so...if you download manga: a) what format are they in and b) what program do you use to read/sort them with?

I use Linux and have Comix as my .cbr/.cbz veiwer/library.

Deth...what's the difference between reading on your phone/tablet and your pc?? I can't even imagine trying to read on a phone! >.<

Rejakted...although I have gone 15 years or so without watching regular TV, I cannot imagine going a month without watching a movie. I would probably be ape shit by the end of the second week. LOL

I don't know for difference - I just like reading manga on my phone/tablet. (I have a pretty big screens on both of them.) If nothing, it's economical. :D

All of my manga releases are in PDF and I use Adobe Reader to read them on my phone/tablet (Better then other stuff, for me at least.) Other readers I encountered are "reading" each page of PDF as a picture and it does not differ from JPG/PNG/CBR/CBZ releases. When I'm using Adobe Reader, I just keep scrolling up and down in order to read mangas... and zoom-in if necessary.

Well that's me, at least.
All my uploads on KAT are PDF releases anyway. :)

The last movie I watched was about 3 weeks or so ago. I'm pretty sure it was The Candidate (or something - had Will Ferrel and Zach Galifianikis). :P
...
I use Picasa to read .jpg and .png images as if you would do with Adobe. Quite fast and zooming and going through pages is all done with the arrow keys.
The only PDF manga I have yet read (and still am reading) is Kimi no Iru Machi. Props to Deth for the torrent. ;)

I'm using CDisplay for years to read manga (usually doujinshi) that are in rar,zip (cbr/cbz) and picasa for images. Sometimes, would just rar/zip the images and then read them in CDisplay. And pdfs up'd by Deth .

I read Light Novels a lot than manga, and they usually are in pdf format (epub and mobi too) in my PC. I can pretty much read lines and lines of text for 36 hours straight in my PC. ;D

In my opinion the best animes are the ones done from completed Mangas ...
example in my case was FMA (Fullmetal Alchemist) were 2 animes were created from 1 manga ... both are great but 1 is cannon and the other let's say is more artistic form based on the original manga

There's some truth in that. The FMA anime were much better than the manga.

The best anime are the ones done that are adapted directly from canon or that make the manga story better.

Yeah, FMA followed the very very beginning of the manga then went on it's own. I actually liked FMA better than FMA:B for that reason. FMA:B is still good though. They also mde FMA that way so they could make the movie Conqueror of Shamballa.

I did the same with Love Hina. Watched the anime, read the last 2 volumes of teh manga to get a conclusion.

So far so good - I haven't started reading anything that was dropped halfway. :D

Kimi no Iru Machi is also publishing, but it has many Vol.s (26th's on the way. I'll be probably uploading it soon.) - still story's amazing. Lots of turns and plot twists.
