❀ What anime/manga has been the most meaningful to you? ❀

❀ What anime/manga has been the most meaningful to you? ❀

In other words, what anime/manga has left the most impact for you after watching/reading it?

It also doesn't have to be from a whole anime or manga, it can be from a scene/moment.

➳ I don't have much anime/manga that has impacted me in such a way. I mostly watch for enjoyment and fun. Some people like to analyze and break down their favorite anime/manga.

➳ There is one anime movie that has been meaningful to me and that would be A Silent Voice. I know this may seem like a basic answer but the one scene at the end of the movie really got to me. Though it may sound corny, that one scene gave me the will to hope again. Even though it was all fiction it still has a long lasting impression in my everyday real life.

➳ Now it's your turn! You don't have to go fully into detail about how an anime/manga affected you. Some people may not want to share such personal details. You can just tell us what scene/moment/or whole in anime/manga that has been meaningful to you.

I think that to me the most impactful anime was Fruits Basket. It had many great characters and as it's a drama many of them had problems of their own. The best thing is that every character deals with them differenty, differnety responds to the world around them and the whole process felt really real. There was no fiction you can find in many anime about problems dissapearing in a day or with power of friendship (no offence to great shounen anime XD). Overall, a very thought provoking show.

The anime that have left a lasting impression on me is 5 Centimeters Per Second. It'd have given me the lesson that no matter now much you might crave for something/someone, you eventually have to get over it. You should not lock yourself into a prison of your own and ignore the people around you just for that something/someone.

The manga that impressed me most was GTO.Actually i watched anime adaptation first and then decided to read manga and it was just amazing. It gave me many life lessons and i'm not kidding it affected my life but in a positive way and i questioned myself what i was doing with my life was actually what i wanted or i was just following others blindly not realizing what i wanted to do.And the MC ONIZUKA is a weirdo who don't care what people think about him he just do what he think is right and help others in a way that they learn something from the encounter. And as a reader i also learned many new things that i think i couldn't have learned on my own.And for that i cherish the experience that i had while reading GTO

Berserk, because it motivates me to overcome struggles and move on, basically if guts can move on from seeing his lover getting raped and all of his friends dying and seeing the person he hates come in power and then of his past killing his adoptive father who treated him like and shit and sold him to a homosexual pedophile at 9 AND STILL keep his head up, then I can definitely move on and struggle with basic life shit such as homework, school, people, and anxiety. Gym time is best time

Right now something that's meaningful to me and in a way motivating is Omniscient Reader. The main character has had a hard life for about 10 years from middle school to now working his job and the world goes to shit with monsters. And the thing that's been motivating him not to give up and keep going is this novel he's been reading those 10 years and for being the only one to stick with it, it becomes his reward, a guide to surviving the horrors and hardships that will come and during the story, he faces many issues and in the latest chapters and a couple of other ones has to face his past and move forward while not giving up.

I've been having many rough times somewhat on the same timeline as him and have been using anime to keep me motivated and not give up and ever since I've been reading this I felt somewhat connected to the main character and getting the drive to not give up and face my issues. It motivates me to be better and not give up.

Some of the japanese authors I've seen have a "cold way" of exposing their view on reality and, even though I don't personally praise 5cm per Second, its message keeps ringing in my head now and then for me to grow more mature and wise.
Lastly, I'd like to point out Steins;Gate. As flawed as the anime might be when against critical eyes, it is a "guilty pleasure" that motivates me to pursue a personally meaningful life and overcome failure (psychological struggles)

The anime with most impact for me is Great Teacher Onizuka(GTO) the reason very simple it's not a anime with 43 episodes it's a anime with 43 lessons of life.
And a bit of comedy xd

As far as anime, I would say Naruto. It was impactful and influential in my love and taste for anime. I just love the world and the main character himself. I love Naruto's ambition and enthusiasm for working hard to become Hokage. But for manga that's a tough one since I haven't read very many manga. But I guess one that is special to me is Food Wars. I think the concept of it is pretty unique and I like the creativity with the different dishes that are made.

The most meaningful anime for me is undoubtedly One Piece. The more I watched it, the more I changed my view on how friendship and love is importante, how great is to have friends and experience great moments with them, i realized that this is basically the most important things and the one we'll always carry with us, our memories with our close ones. And as the anime shows me all those important things through awesome battles and emotional scenes, it makes me find it even greater, how Luffy fights for what he believes is inspiring, even tough many shonen frequently have those moments, i think One Piece does it different, By having deep, meaningful, characters and stories, every single arc. For me basically everything is amazing about this anime and everytime I feel low, watching it makes me feel better. I laugh and cry easily even with ordinary episodes, and for all those reasons, Im sure One Piece is always in my heart.

Snk is simply amazing, the second anime that I love the most. I find beautiful how the story connects, and specially how the first part is catching and dont let you go until you got your answers, I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Also, the fights and the songs in the anime makes it even more exciting to watch, its easy to cry, no matter if the moment is happy or sad. Can't wait for the last season.

For me, the most meaning anime has been ' Demon slayer ' . The pureness and actions does it all .
and among manga ... it has to be 'DEATH NOTE' ...no matter how evil /powerful one can be ... the good ones are always the winners .

Akame go Kill! reignited my love for anime. I fell in love back with Dragonball Z in the OG Toonami days, but my interest waned during college. Feeling nostalgic, I turned on Adult Swim one night and watched the Toonami block. First anime I saw was Akame ga Kill! and it stuck with me ever since.

maybe oyasumi pun pun, is really impactful in almost every way. i feel identified w a bunch of characters and some things that happens to them is actually things that happened to me, is weird and it made me view another perspective of the anime/manga industry and i think that asano inio was with that message on mind while doing it.
another manga that mean something to me was yankee juku e iku, mainly because my high school experience was similar and had friends like the ones the protagonist got :p got me thinking ab friendship and stuff.

Komi Can’t Communicate makes me feel heard as an Autistic individual and I cried reading the manga and watching the first season of the anime. Although it’s not directly stated, I like to believe that Komi herself is autistic and I feel close or her character. I love how the main guy accepts her for who she is and willingly helps her to make friends. This is so cute and wholesome and I wish that there are more manga and characters like Komi that I can really relate to on a whole other level.

Lately, I had a "phase".

I was looking for a show to watch that that will make me feel something "special". Like impact me emotionally. It did not have to be sad if that's what you are thinking. But more like something that will make me feel like it was worth watching. That feeling of fulfillness. I know, that is the whole point of watching a show. Maybe because I kept watch the wrong ones. I have watched a lot of shows in my life and I did not find THE show that could potentially make me feel this way. Until, I watched 86.

It started up as I was watching the Trash Taste Podcast on Youtube. One of the member did not like 86. I just got curious and wanted to check it out. Because the only way to judge any shows is to experiment it.

It is set in a typical fictional universe with rules in a society. That society was believe it or not very true to what we are living now in a way. It was similar. I was just surprise on how it was unexcitingly GOOD! I did not think I would like it. But as I was going through a lot in my life, I felt it has impacted me more than I thought. It is totally not related to my life but it did impacted me in a way to get up and go on somehow.

I know there are mix feeling toward this show. Well, all shows do. But anyway I am glad I gave it a try. It did not make it to my top favorite anime but it is a special honor if I had to make TOP 10.

I actually had many anime that had impacted me throughout my life that were mentioned previously such as Fruit Basket, Great teacher Onizuka (GTO), Detective Conan, Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi, Kingdom... However, I just wanted to highlight 86 as it is the most recent and such an underrated shows.

Probably K-on! I watched it when I was in high school, so the best time to watch it imo. And my main friend group was me (a girl) and 3 other friends who were also girls so it was incredibly relatable. And we each loved and related to a different girl from the main 4 group, so it was perfectly serendipitous. We even went as a group cosplay of them to a con :)

I'll always have fond memories of that anime and re-watch it every now and again to bask in the nostalgia~

Although it's no longer my favorite, the most meaningful anime to me would be Darling in the Franxx. After rewatching it ... a couple times ... I realized that it's not as good as I thought it once was. But without it I wouldn't have become a certified weeb. Its the anime that made me want to watch more, so I have it to thank for that.

Fruits Basket—both the manga and anime. So much more than a romance. I know "drama" is in the genre description too, but I think people don't expect how deep the character building and story building goes, IMO. I remember thinking the manga and anime were underrated back in the day. I'm glad the new adaptation gained popularity. I think a lot of life lessons and how to be a good person can be learned. This is from my initial perspective, reading/watching at 15 years old.

For me its Fullmetal Alchemist as a whole. It was one of my earlier animes and i watched the whole thing( OG version and Brotherhood) with my own brother, who is not that into anime. We both liked it very much and i have fond memories of the time watching it. It was one of the few animes we have watched together besides Mob Psycho 100 and Evangelion.

For me I think the most impactful anime was "Your Lie in April". For me the anime presented several themes that resonated with me. Such as giving up on something you were great at because life got in the way (for me Art and music instead of just music), making a friend who barged into your life and turned it upside down to disappear for whatever reason leaving a hole in your life, and the ideal that after life becomes easier you could go back to the thing you gave up, due to life getting in the way.

Classroom of the elite (s1). Classroom of elite is an anime that I still don't understand completely. But I understand it enough to know how much there is that I still don't know. I myself don't consider me to be a genius. And I had accepted it. Cause I only knew born geniuses up until I watched this anime. But Ayanokoji was not apparently born with his superhuman intelligence. He was MADE a genius. The moment I heard about this concept, I just knew what I wanted to be, a genius and a creator. And so, I started out by Sorting out the types of geniuses that I could be. Then I Researched each and everyone of them thoroughly. Then I sorted out the things that I can and can not achieve and then then I compared the requirement of being each type of genius to my strengths and weaknesses. In the end I realized, Ayanokoji was not a good role model for the genius that I wanted to be, he is not 100% realistic either. Hence, I designed a character, I designed the default face, the habits, the background, decided the art that they mastered, when, where and I started working to be the character. It took time but eventually, I started to feel the presence of this character in me. But that wasn't enough proof for me to move to the next step. so, I went back 5 steps. And I waited until the I had enough evidence to prove all the other conclusions wrong and the conclusion that I was aiming for right. Once I was sure that I was on the right path, I decided that, it was time for me to perform the script that I had prepared for the 2nd step. It will take time, sure. But nothing I can lose has been used in this project of mine. All resources of this project were gathered solely for this project. In other words, even if this project fails, I will not lose anything.

For me, it has to be Oreimo - it was one of the first animes that I watched, and responsible for making me the weeb that I am today.
Keeping the incest part aside, I think the series, especially in the first season, explores the social issues and pressure that otakus face in real life and is very relatable to many of us.

Oooh, there's a lot of anime/manga to name, I don't think I can even call all of them.
First is Komi Can't Communicate, as someone who has a hard time also communicating with people, I relate to the premise of the show. I adore Komi and Tadano, the other characters can sometimes be annoying.
The Second is I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, and the last is Violet Evergarden.
