| I prefer the laughter of children, as it has a nicer ring to it. That said, I think back on my childhood, the kids I knew, and some kids I've seen since then, and can say with certainty that I wish I myself as well as several others would've had our heads handed to us at various intervals, for one thing or another. That builds some finer aspects of character too; if not, then at the very least if you behave like a little shit then you should receive the karmic justice of being treated like one. |
| Love's a tall order to fill a glass full of, or moreover the heart, and I sometimes wonder myself if it was an absence of the stuff that led some of the people I've encountered throughout my own life to become embittered or as disenchanted as they were. I always admired the beauty of things and spent my time looking for positives, and when I was younger and in the throes of a career path I became acutely aware that negativity was infectious because it was an easy thing to incubate and spread. It is easy to see a crack in a stained glass window, or the chipping paint on a masterpiece, but I suppose the question remains if such things can truly detract from the beauty of a thing at-large. All that flowery stuff aside, people are easy to dislike and nobody ever told me I had to like everyone, but I found it easier and simpler to take my pleasures where I could and, even if the company I was with insisted on making our time together as miserable and tedious as possible, I myself would endeavor to make it as pleasant for myself as I could just to spite them. I don't know if there's anything in the way of advice there, but that is my outlook on others. People are not worthy of animosity or sleepless nights, and getting along with them was always a sort of fun game for me even if it was less fun for them. |
