| I have had the anime on my list for a while but never watched it because I read the story was left unfinished because the author dropped the manga, so I wonder if this newer version is finished or just a remake of the old parts? |

| All the anime and manga are based on an "ongoing" series of light novels. The series has been "ongoing" since 1996, currently containing nine volumes of main stories and three volumes of supplemental stories. The most recent novel release was 2018. |
