I enjoyed season 1 knowing that it was going to be very stupid. I found myself cheering/despising Kazuya. I genuinely wanted the guy to get over Mami and he does starts off a perfect mix of likable but flawed character. Season 2 did everything possible to kill Kazuyas's character. Its 100% the creators fault; obviously. He saw how popular his mediocre manga was getting and instead of making a competent story with a definite end, he's milking it for everything he can.

Maybe I'm giving the mangaka too much credit, but I feel like the potential in this story was seriously missed.

i love rent a girlfriend even though i notice all the shortcomings and problem

just turn your brain off before watching and it honestly really fun and don't deserve the hate it gets ( the anime not manga) I enjoy it way more than spyxfamily

Really enjoyed s1 and when the final episode aired i ended up reading the manga, starting from chapter 1 and speedrunning until the lastest chapter. But unfortunately after the peak arc, the manga immediately became shit and to the point that I grew to hate the series. But oh well, s1 was really good( I gave it a 10 once, crazy i know but I did have my reasons, which was ruined by the manga), but not looking forward on watching s2 just yet, but probably will once s3 starts cause s3 would be real good.

Eh..I believe that s2 was still a set up but done in a way that could've been better. But s3 is where Kazuya's development would come, but unfortunately, anything after that is when the mangaka self destructs and goes to a route of no return.

I'm sure some people are enjoying it, but most of the viewer base don't. The story has literally no sense, lack of creativity, Chizuru could be a nice character, but she's too agressive even for a tsundere. I'm just wantching it all over again and I hate it. I hate the MC probably because I can see myself in him.

(Opinion based on Season 1 and up to Episode 10)

Its all about current perspective, state of mind and your sense of humor. To me this show easily brings a smile to my face. I think the characterization is well thought out and while its plot ideas are expectantly relaxed I do see some distinct details in the overall writing for the plot and characters. Also and this surprised me the most; the animation is actually quite impressive. (character designs are lovely too)

If you look through what I've watched you would see that I typically enjoy comedy/harem shows... still this one actually stands out a lot to me from what I've seen before. Which is surprising because before watching this show I was led to believe it was an average watch. Its not an average watch/show to me.
