Showing the story from the girls' perspective and maybe only having Kazuya as a minor character who's just one of the many clients they have to deal with, instead of being the main character, would be a lot more enjoyable.

For all of Kazuya’s flaws, he makes the show wildly chaotic due to said flaws, so without him I feel like the show would be less fun.

I also enjoy cringe humor myself, so I’d rather keep the show the way it is

I can’t speak for the manga, but rent a girlfriend has some of the worst characters in popular anime. Did I binge watch all of it in one sitting? Hell yeah I did. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Do I care about a single character now that it is done? Not one bit.
