I was confused even in the manga how she came to like him so much; that scene with her getting embarrassed when her sister says something about her liking him had me kind of disappointed.

It is such an overrated movie. Its very unrealistic
Realism regarding?

And which is an illusion.

honestly that's a stupid question, they adapted the manga perfectly. if you don't get why she fell in love with him, i guess you didn't understand the movie at all lmao

Friends are nothing more than the people who you spend the fun, yet meaningless times with. When those times get rough, they aren’t there to support you.

She had a crush on him since day one.
Also, she was insecure, anxious and had low self esteem. Those people tend to believe that they deserve the suffering they go through, so she did not held the grudge.
Also, there is a major time skip at the beginning and normal people tend to move on.
Dunno how you can consider this "unrealistic".

yep... this makes a lot of sense, and she attempting suicide puts everything together, because she thinks she is a burden... and by seing him bullied she had empaty

facts. it sucks even more cause it gets "real" a few times, but that's crapped on from everything else. Way to many contrived fiction moments and "plot holes" (shit that don't make sense). WHY DO YOU LIKE HIM HE MERCISSELY BULLIED YOU LIKE THAT! WHY? sheeeeet I'd understand a Lil if this man was some herculan Greek God but he looks like a lover. Also her whole character is just her disability lmao. Her sister cool tho and the friend guy with the tree hair, I rock with him.
I don't care if you made me cry 3 times still mid af and saved by production (Kensuke Ushio♡)

It would be unrealistic if she did not forgave him. People tend to move on and there was major time skip + the bullying happend when she was really young. He also learned sign language just to apologize.

Its kind of hard to explain, but in both the film and manga Shoya does his best to apologize in the best way he can, he even does it when returning the communication notebook. And for Shouko, all she had was her sister in High School so when a tormenter of her past came back and apologized and went further to try and connect her with some more friends, even admitting his wrong-doings to said friends it shows his own growth as a person and as a character. Shoya also goes out of his way on several occasions to make this reunification/friendship-expansion to be as smooth and easy for Shouko as possible. Also Shouko as a character just has a really undying kind heart- that kinda thing prevails through dark dark shit.

Cool thats great I get it... However I didnt really get that from the movie all that clearly and well. But hey I guess that what happens when you try to cram 64 chapters of manga content into 2 hours of film. And the manga looks great, I'm gonna read it one day when I'm in the mood

Ngl, the romance of this movie was undercooked & she forgives him way too quickly.

Still a great movie in my opinion.

Well it’s not really focused on romance, it’s focused on Ishida regretting his actions and learning to love himself again. And also, she’s just a really kind person, and she can tell that he regrets what he’s done, he even apologized. Obviously there people that wouldn’t forgive him, but that’s not the type of person she is.

Why did she forgive him so easily? He was a bully,a** and never apologize to him properly and why did she fall in love with him? It's so fast and meaningles.Did they adapt to manga is wrong?

Well, yes and no. Although Koe no Katachi seems like a romance, they never actually ‘fall in love,’ even at the end they’re still friends. They aren’t dating, or have kissed or anything like that. It’s just our interpretation and almost want for them to fall in love. But she does accept him as a friend. Maybe that’s because that’s all she ever wanted when she was little. But Shoko was always portrayed as a forgiving person (her trying to become friends with her bullies even after countless attacks and denial from them). However, if I said this movie was a 9/10, the manga is a 9.5/10 because it definitely gave better development to more characters (Ueno in particular). I think this story is more about forgiveness then romance. However, that could just be my perspective.

Cause she's a good, decent person who probs doesn't want to/nor feel the need to stoop so low as to inflict the same pain on him.

Come on people. We know anime and manga make it a point to show and encourage/inspire good morale amongst the audience instead of resorting to petty behaviour.

GOOD MORALE it's that simple.
Atleast I believe so.

Must humans create content that has a very negative influence (potential) on other humans? Is it a good thing?

Not tryna come off as "attacking" here. Please just know that this isn't an attack

OH and also she probs thought that their shared experiences of being bullied both led them to the same dark conclusion. Knew the pain well enough to break the cycle. If that's the right phrasing (breaking cycle)

it’s also like she k he got bullied cuz of her while Shouko always thinks she’s de prob like if she is not there, no one would get hurt/ bullied. There r ppl with a kind of personality dat they tend to put things on themselves even when they do nothing wrong.

People out here calling this movie overrated simply because of this one aspect baffles me. I don't think it's a huge issue given already time skip but you braindead keep going.

They be saying "unrealistic" when they themselves have never interacted with people before. Ironic.

She always wanted to be his friend when he was still bullying her, that confused him and he bullied her more. But when he finally says he wants to be her friend she is eager to say yes. It’s just the person she is, and if you don’t like it that’s your choice, but whether you like it or not, this movie is a masterpiece.

absolute facts once again
