I am watching this show and I think its comedy more like a parody but they haven't mentioned it in the genre, am I getting the wrong impression?

There's definitely an element of comedy in that show, but it's not really a parody. It more meant as a tribute to the tokusatsu genre.

Oh, thanks for explaining that to me, b.t.w you mentioned 'tokusatsu genre', what kind of genre is that I mean how is this not mecha?

Well tokusatsu is live action super hero shows mostly aimed towards kids.Obvious examples being Ultraman,Super Sentai(Power Rangers),Kamen Rider etc.SSSS.Gridman is loosely based on a tokusatsu series of the same name and pays homage to it.

Yeah, Tokusatsu is for some reason not a huge thing in anime. More of a live-action thing.
