How can people hate on this? This show's a hidden gem

I just want to say for anyone who makes it to this reply after all that fighting: it's not the type of anime I would suggest to the average anime viewer. It doesn't really have the story or art for mainstream appeal, and it kind of feels like it was written more for a female audience (no complaints here: am female). So I think some people will compare it unfavorably to whatever they're most familiar with--Tokyo Ghoul and Twilight. That's why I think it gets hate.

In any case, I don't think it deserves actual hate? It's just not for everyone, and that's okay. Just keep it in mind next time some girl in your life is asking for recommendations, wishing Tokyo Ghoul had more romance or whatever.
