@MikariStar
At a rough estimate, I can guess that I have around 1500 discs that I personally have burned/created/whathaveyou. Then on top of that, I have three different boxes filled with just CDs, usually the legal counterparts to the things I burned when I was a moron and downloading everything that I could see/like. (And then I have an entire wall of DVDs, also the legal counterparts to things like fansubs.)

Hi, welcome to geekdom. Please enjoy your stay. My collection amasses about... ten years? I started when was about eight, I think...

And yet, surprisingly enough, I am not a complete anime/manga/video game nerd. First and foremost, I am a dancer. I wonder how that happened...

FOR THOSE OF YOU NEW TO THE THREAD:
I have the Black Mages, all three CDs (Black Mages, Skies Above, Darkness & Starlight) available for your listening pleasure. They're even already uploaded. If you would like links, feel free to blather on in this thread, or PM me. I also have the Piano Collections from FF7, FF8, and FF11, and the original soundtrack from FF7, and FF8. I will upload them if anyone asks, but please list where you would like to get them from... otherwise, I'll use megaupload.

wow :o I mostly just rent DVDs or watch you tube and veoh. Most of my music was given to me and my original CD are all old (which were also given to me) I've bought like maybe 3 or 4 CDs myself. Though I'm not sure if it even counts since it was allowance money. Since I got a job the only things I've paid for have been internet and videogames. ^^;;

I think they are D:

However my current player seems to unable to play .psf2 files (PS2). There is some other program but it hangs on FFX, FFX-2 .psf2 files. But hey that's linux %)

xD I buy things on sale, even if they are the legal counterparts. If you stumble across the right sale, you can get a ton of things for more than 50% off, especially if you have a nice chat with the person selling, and explain why you want what you're buying. Most people who have bought these sorts of things [anime/seiyuu cds/manga] are much more comfortable selling to a person they know will appreciate the produce the same way they did.

I'm sure I still spent a good amount of money on it though, but I had my little side businesses as a kid, so I was pretty well set for buying cheap cds and books. Yay for second hand sales!

Audio Overload is my secondary player (primary beeing xmms2) and it hangs at those FFX, FFX-2 files, so I'm waiting for a new version of both (^ ^) Audacious plays only .psf (PS1) that plays by Audio Overload anyway. As for Winamp plugins there is good working one named “Highly Experimental”, but I don't have it here on Linux XD

I have a job now and because of it not a lot of free time so I've been waiting until I'm "done" with the things I have (beating games and such) before I get something new. I make exceptions for games I really want though.

Linux is cool, though I only used it once on college. I also want a Mac, but don't want to let go of all my Windows games even if I dislike Windows.

Well, I'm working freelance for now. Some HTML/CSS/whatever things. So more or less I have time, but at this time of year I don't really want to do anything somehow (-_-)'

Yeah, most PC games are Windows-only… And W.I.N.E. mostly plays only old ones. PC version of Grandia 2 doesn't work with it though (however I already played it anyway).

I want a job like that! I know XHTML, CSS and some Javascript, I just don't know where to find such a job so I'm stuck with a crappy airplane engine database management full time. :( I'm currently job hunting for a part time in some kind of college/university, they have the best vacations. Then I can quit my current crappy job but college hiring season isn't until June. D: Gah, pardon the rant.

I play a lot of games on the comp so I would really be missing out if I got a mac. Though what I plan to do is eventually have a windows pc and a mac laptop, however, since I don't really need to move around with a computer at the time I'm being lazy about getting the mac laptop which will not do much except sit around unused while I play games on the oc.

Well, I don't get much from my freelance jobs for now. I studied some programming first but desided I don't like to do it all the time though. Besides, I don't really like to deal with databases so… (O.o)

As for Macs — they are pretty expensive %) If I'll buy a laptop I choose the one that'll work with Linux. Or at least I'll try :} The only problem here — I need to test pages in Internet Explorer. Since there is no Linux version I test in IE6 under WINE, but IE8 doesn't seem to work with it right now, so it'll require some VM “magic”.

oc should be pc -.- but you already knew that, right? me and my typos -.-

I've never really worked with online databases, I'm a geek so I would like to learn as many codes as possible, even if I rarely use them. XD I mostly use Access to build databases and work with others but only using databases that have already been built so it's just entering data.

I wouldn't mind saving up for a Mac if I was going to use it, but since I'll use Windows for games most of the time it feels like a waste to buy a Mac (or anything for that matter) and not use it. I'm really picky when buying, I don't care if the prince requires saving up for a while, but it must be something that I know I'll use a lot.

Hehe (^ ^)

I worked a bit with MySQL. I tried to wrote something like 1-user blog system. It wasn't finished but it worked. At least you could write posts, look/delete them, see comments. Well, you could theoretically see comments but comment writing wasn't implemented ^_____^ So I've got a bit of idea how it works and decided I don't like this area of work.

I prefer fighting and JRPG games, so… it doesn't really matter what PC I use since most of these games are console-only (-_-) I played many on SNES emulator on a PC though. Chrono Trigger rocks (^ . ^)

I need to check out MySQL, I've always been curious but with a job I don't have time for much. Maybe I'll find a nice tutorial and read it on the job since it's codes and it blends so well with actual work I won't even need to be on my guard not to be caught studying on the job.

JRPG? Japanese RPG, like FFVII, etc? I play mostly the PC versions of such games. :D

Well, there are some preconfigured install of apache + php + mysql if you don't want to tweak it by hand. Default configuration isn't quite perfect but for studing it's good enough.

Yeah, like FFVII and others. Many good games don't exist on a PC (-_-) Like the mentioned Chrono Trigger. It's sequel Chrono Cross was on PS1 and wasn't quite good. It feeled half-done and done wrong (-_-)' Well, Chrono Trigger is masterpiece anyway — time traveling and all (^ . ^)

I love Chrono Trigger, another all time favorite. I never got around to playing Chrono Cross and even with all the negative things I've heard I can't help it but to feel curious. I played the fan game that takes place in between, Crimson Echoes, but it was unfinished and i don't know if it was ever finished. Love playing as Magus.

Yeah, it's free (GNU General Public License (version 2) or proprietary EULA).

There is also PostgreSQL (BSD-style license), which some found to be better, but personally I didn't tried it so I don't know.

Magus rules, yeah (^ . ^) As for Chrono Cross… they dropped Magus from there… 1 magician is supposed to be him, but they didn't had enough time. But they had time for the hell number of unneeded characters and weird storyline. There are too many “ooopsies”. Like character saying of Radical Dreamers group while it was only one person in the “group” — Kidd. And when she called our heroes together with her like that not even one asked what the hell did she mean by that. Oh well…

It is called well “Radical Dreamers” :} Chrono Cross is very loosely based on it. Many melodies camed from Radical Dreamers to Chrono Cross. Like “Frozen Flame”, “Snakebone Mansion”, “Gale”, “Requiem ~ Dream Shore (2)”, “The Girl Who Stole the Star” :}

Not that it's stopping them.

It's a stupid decision, if anything it would keep the fandom alive and help them realize they should make more. They could sell more products and since the CT fever won't die down they'll sell better. Or maybe they're just scared of a fangame being better than an official game, which I can totally see happening in just about any situation, not just CT. We fans know what the fans want after all.

Well, it stopped Chrono Resurrection it seems.

I don't understand this. Why don't they release new game? It's insanely popular among the fans. Or maybe they desided to held it as a trump card just in case FF's popularity will decrease. It was so many years ago that they could write perfect scenario by this time (-_-)

Tenno, I find it odd that you said your original posting of this question seems broken. I just posted on it a few hours ago [from 5-20-09 at 6:35]. So, anyhow, I said my favorite is the Black Mages version of One-Winged Angel; however, I LOVE the Advent Children version of Tifa's theme. I started getting upset at the time because I was listening to it while thinking about my ex-girlfriend since she was not around at this time and I got very lonely over her because I still DEEPLY LOVE her and want to be her guy again. Anyhow, I'm fine now and feel I need to explain something that I may end up explaining on my F.F VII Role Play page.

Also I filed a bugreport about XMMS2 program I use to listen my music in Linux. Maybe they'll add support for .psf/.psf2 files (music format from PS1/PS2 games) (^. ^)/ However it doesn't seem as simple as I want it to be. I'll stick with Audio overload for PlayStation music files for know.

It's not perfect but it works. Aside from some PSF2 games not working like FFX. According to author they are a bit tricky. However I'm waiting for a new version.

EDIT: Also Audacious seems to be able to play .psf and .minipsf files (but not .psf2 and .minipsf2).

“Zophar's Domain” website has FF7 .minipsf files. You can google it pretty easily.

Well, in Valis 1 Yuko's (main hero) friend was Reiko. She was brainwashed and fought Yuko, then she (Reiko) dies :( Her memory return though. Then there was ghost of Reiko in the Valis 3 where Yuko becomes a goddess (after the game). It's not explained much since it's a platform game.

And I like music there :} Those .gym files should be google'able. Probably on "Zophar's domain" website.
