Banana no Nana is not listed as a Yuri/Shoujo ai on MAL. It's incomplete but still is finished (the middle is missing terribly) but it is a yuri manga no matter who says what. Don't believe me read it. XD

...which reminds me (the guess game), that Soul Eater NOT! is not on the relations list (yet)... thoughts on if you would consider it Yuri or not?

Read from this page on up. It's the last chapter but it doesn't matter. The writer left the series to die at a critical moment so the Co.Writer jumped forward within the series and gave it an ending. If that last chapter doesn't say this manga is a yuri then my mind is blown. I'm guessing it just hasn't been labeled yuri or shoujo ai on MAL or Mangahere yet.

I guess (...aside consistency...) it's OK, since it was answered fast, ...also useful to bring up this question. I wouldn't necaraliy say it Yuri because of Jacqueline x Kim, though they definitely shipable, but it is more of one sided though..., but more for Tsugumi x Anya x Meme, I think especially the last episode. Opinion?

But the fact that she was ever a he will sit wrong on the minds of some and I do think that should be respected. It's something I've not been able to answer since joining the club. This isn't a slight to any sort of transsexualism, rather the qualifications of what Yuri is.

This is what the relations list discussion always boils down to and it's all splitting hairs. It's desirable to think this is simple but the fact is, Yuri is a matter of sexuality and human relations and those are subjects of many angles.

The relation department sounds like hell on earth for this club. >. < The genre means so many different things to everyone that there's no clear indication on what is what. Shows like Madoka, I clearly see a friendship with no Yuri at all between Madoka and Homura but only with the help of fans (doujins/fanarts) I see that relationship.

If Kashimashi is not Yuri then Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru sure as heck isn't either. That's my defense for that show. XD

EDIT:I haven't watched Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru because of the cross dressing.

"Kashimashi" was always a tough nut to crack for me as well - the main character basically is STILL a guy.

But I have an even bigger problem with "Maria Holic" - though I still haven't seen it. From what I know, in this show the main character IS a guy and he is just cross-dressing. So does the yuri element involve other characters beside the main hero and heroine?

With "Madoka" the problem I had was that in the 12-episode series I didn't notice any shoujo-ai or yuri elements - but in the third movie it is clearly visible. It looked as though only because of the doujins and fanarts Urobuchi decided: "this might be a good idea"; and added this element to the story.

In the beginning of the manga, The Different Story, he added the Shoujo ai in for fanservice right at the beginning. But aside from that, saying "Love" about a friend could mean many things. It's how your mind and goggles interpret it. There's people I "Love" but not "In Love" with. Sorry for falling somewhat off top topic...

His mind, sexuality and everything stayed original. He pretty much became a transsexual but even with transsexuals, their sexuality is judged by what it would be if their body and mind were aligned. If his body and mind were aligned, he'd be straight.

I think it's very obvious that Homura is in love with Madoka since there's no damn way someone would go that far to make sure a friend is happy as her. Note: It was never about Homura being happy until 3rd film but then she outright admitted that she loved her. I haven't her a friend use the word love to a friend like Homura did because it wasn't when she was happy or pleased or to praise her or something, it felt like her own revelation about her feelings. As if she realised, after all that time, that she did it for Madoka because she loves her not because of some weird seriously obsessive friendship.

I agree with you on Maria Holic but I was asked not to remove anything so this is beyond my competence.

However, about Maria Holic, if it stays in our relations, I'm against putting the MC on character relations. It's pointless and it already takes too much space with characters on out list that are MCs in anime in our list. My idea about handling this would be having in character relations yuri characters that aren't featured in anime from relations list. Could I clean up at least the character relations list? It's not like anyone cares about that... but me, that is.

I agree 100%. And Maria Holic, even though one of the MC is a guy dressed as a girl, the other MC is a girl and she is a 100%lesbian.

So have we decided on any parameters for this list yet? I'll bring up Sailor Moon again (specifically the S and Sailor Stars seasons): a prominent canon yuri couple and some romantic-ish scenes between them (they even make a reference to bed o_O) and one of them is fairly manly in appearance, which causes some of the sailor scouts to swoon over her, even after they find out she's a female.

I agree as well. I'm actually surprised it wasn't already in there. But it should definitely be in it, for both anime and character. As a sailor moon fan, i know for a fact they are together, and yes Haruka is always making advances at michiru, and she clearly accepts them! :b

But yes both anime and characters please! :D

I'd rather not have "double" mentions in character list and the others. Besides, Haruka and Michiru are main characters (and form what I remember very very yuri) so it's not like people will need glowing arrows to indicate who the yuri characters are.

Adding S and Stars to anime relations list.

I understand. My point isn't to take over the world the lists but to make it easier to understand and to make them a bit more organised. If you feel like that won't help, I won't mind if you reject my proposal (I'm still talking about character relations list only). I understand that the list is something that was created way before I even joined this club so I'll give it the respect elderly deserve.

Because of how much Tooru LOVES Run - her reaction after seeing Run on the bed with Yuuko says a lot. Tooru also like to play with Yuuko's boobs. There is more yuri subtext in the rest of the show as well - like how much Tooru's two classmates want to be close to her.

Adding A-Channel since I understand it has more yuri subtext than just one yuri character.

@Crowlage It's just 4 episodes in so I want to wait a bit (assuming the yuri level stays the same) or until it finishes. I want to avoid adding it just for it to suddenly kill off Urara next episode or something like that. Just in case.

Anybody seen Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon? Just completed watching it's 2nd season. I wouldn't say, that the show itself is Yuri, but it has a canon Yuri couple; Malga x Margot. Might add the characters to the club's relations list...?

Also, I'd like to bring Sabagebu! to everyone's attention one more time. I wanted to wait until it finishes but I really don't think the yuri in it is going to just disappear at this point. There's yuri in every episode and the anime is very open about it. There's not really a canon yuri couple (although there are some cases which are arguable) but there's plenty of very obvious crushes that go as far as the narrator and the involved outright talking about love.
