Is School Days that depressing?

It's more maddening than depressing... though like others have said already, I'd recommend it if you don't mind watching something different.

It's not depressing at all. The ridiculousness of everything later on just makes it hilarious to watch, and Makoto is just so funny with how much of a dick he is. Everyone complains how much they hate Makoto, but that's what the creators intended so it's fine. It then all builds up to that ending, and that ending makes it all worthwhile.

I indeed do think the anime is... depressing is not the word, but rather hateful. It created an insatiable anger in me, I wanted to hit everyone in their faces. And I'm not an aggressive person.

I PERSONALLY didn't like the anime, BUT I admit the creator managed to get his idea through and DID make me have feelings towards the characters (mostly hate).

I consider it's an anime that you should watch, because even if you don't like it that much, it might open up to new feelings or ways of seeing characters.

Well I watched some time ago already :P this is an old post but that's the best description of how I felt while watching it.

This is one of the best anime's I'v watched despite how horrible the maim character may be but its depressing just seeing how horrible the choices each character makes can have u cry but jus seeing how much love and cheating and sympathy and how wrong the main character is makes this a must watch cuz I ppromise that at the end of this you'll be thinking bout the show all day the best anime's are the ones that keep u thinking

I thought it was great. My friend said it ruined his anime life. I think he is exaggerating.

@Foolishmints it ruined mine. I can’t stand to watch other anime’s cuz of how boring they are. School days really played my emotions. Now I’m sitting here trying to find other anime like school days but I can’t sadly which makes me kinda sad almost depressing.
