Do you think that D.S. is truly evil and everything he does, no matter how kind on the surface, is for his own gain, or do you think he has a lot of good in him whether he cares to admit it or not? Discuss.

DS clearly has a lot of good in him. He's too mixed with the little kid to be any other way. I bought Vol. 10+11 the other day at Otakon, and DS agrees to open a magical portal just because this old lady the little kid (i've seen way too many translations for his name) kinda likes her. He also doesn't really seem to cause much harm to his allies whether they disagree with him or not.

I wish he was evil, but he gets more and more wimpy and a pushover especially when Yoko bosses him around. Damn Lucien's fault.

The thing that strikes me about DS is his confidence. He's never scared of anything and his spells are the best I have seen anywhere in anime/manga.

He's a good warrior and he has respect for his old friends like Abigail and the others, but I guess everyday life is boring for him. As the series progresses, he's less and less the rude Cassanova and more of a main heroic-type character who does act pretty believably.

I think the anime only touched on the former aspects of DS's incarnation, when actually there seem to be a lot more which we don't know about yet.
