MysticFlame - nice pose and drawing in general, would love to see it finished. :)

Decepticolz - I love how some of your drawings have a bit of an old school vibe. Nice stuff.

Myself, I've just finished this, should really get back to drawing more. And do a leg study. <.<

Nice like always.
I don't know how to say that properly but I feel that her upper left arm is in an impossible pose with these book, well rather than her arm the book are badly positioned imo.

Lattest drawing:

I had only planned to do the head so I inked until her shoulder, only after did I made the rest of the body so I was limited on the outcome since the shoulder were already inked.
I did my best but there's still a lot of proportion mistake around the chest area and the arm(and the hand, god i'm awefull at hand).

I feel like I improved on hands by looking at how different people (in anime or whatever) simplify them...like the shapes/overlaps that different hand gestures make. Of course also studying real hands works, too. Eventually your brain will break it down and you'll know how to handle a lot of gestures. It could also help to look at the actual structure of it (like the 3D forms involved).

Some sketches from today:

Thanks, I feel that simplifying things helps with drawing. You can improve your skills in drawing things in perspective by learning to draw 3D forms well freehand. You can start simple (maybe cylinders?) and work up to more complex interlocking forms for practice.

MAL is the dark underbelly of the anime community. While other naive fanboys and fangirls run around in real life forming clubs and squealing in deafening high pitch noises about their favourite animus, we remain here, meticulously dismantling the credibility of each and every show, until all that remains is a steaming pile of tropes and ass pulls which we then devour to gratiyfy our glutinous and masochistic desires.

Thanks! :D

hmm, tips on shading?
just decide and imagine the light source, and then start shading with light source in mind.
(if you re not used to it, just draw the light source. you may delete it after finished)

Tips on folding?
learn and observe others' works (preferably those of great artists)
mimic colorings is good for learning.
do practice a lot until you get the gist of it.
after that find your own method (the method that you re convenient with; the method that you can work fast with)
As for me, I m influenced with DBZ folding style (naturally), as I drew too much DBZ things in my childhood. Recent influence was from various anime artists, especially at DeviantArt.

Hope it helps. ^_^
