Manga's about child abuse?

Now, I know plenty, plenty of manga's with some emo kid shouting FML in the street with arms raised up in the air while it's ~ever so dramatically~ raining, however I'm interested in the normal, psychological aspect of abuse.

I would rather not have one based on sexual abuse however, but it's ok if that's recommended too (but please no Elfen Lied -_-)

And my god there's a fly buzzing around my ear now.

Unfortunately I've not read any that fit your exact criteria, but I do have a couple.

A light hearted one that deals with a guy who's been traumatised by a violent experience with a girl who liked him and now is scared of women (fanservice, hilarious situations, but still dealing with trauma) is Girls Saurus and it's sequel Girls Saurus DX.

And one that deals with sexual abuse is

Yes, they're both by the same mangaka, but Kusunoki Kei does this kind of story really well.

Loveless has child abuse in it... with Ritsuka and his mother... its a really good story :)
