I'm interested in any anime that exhibits/incorporates a great deal of technology (something along the lines of Ghost in the Shell). I don't mean technology as in gundam mecha. I'm rather interested in it's use through information systems. I don't have a problem with mecha, but I'd prefer the focus wasn't on canons blasting through armored tanks.

Right now I'm going through Serial Experiments Lain and the rest of the Ghost in the Shell series.

Although it does not play a real major theme, one of the men on the team is a hacker.

Witch Hunter Robin does look interesting. I can cope with side characters playing the parts. I understand the obscurity otherwise. Thank you for the recommendation. Going to look for it now.

Welcome to the NHK!, its not a futuristic series but one of the main supporting characters is a computer programmer (which plays a significant role in the overall plot).
Summer Wars, set in the near future so technology isn't significantly better but hacking plays a pivotal role in the plot

Going to grab both of them. NHK especially catches my eye.

A great manga that focuses on hacking (mc is a hacker and he does it to save the world lol) is Bloody Monday. It's currently running as a sequel called Bloody Monday Season 2, and it's a really great manga.

Well I just read through the first chapter. I do like the setting and even the characters. But, it's a skiddie nightmare. The kid's using a gui/mouse to execute commands? That being said, I'll still read it in hopes that the plot equates to something decent and dare I hope, we move past the skiddie hacking.

Both of the manga you recommended sound interesting. I especially like the "until death do us part" mindset. Ergo Proxy was quite the atmosphere and I loved it. I'd like to find something similar to it especially. Texhnolyze is something I am most definitely going to snag. Real Drive also sounds like a winner. I love the idea of society being networked and manipulatable. Thank you for the recommendations.

That's another title I've been interested in. Looks like high quality animation as well. I'll be grabbing it asap. Thank you for the recommendation.

I do plan on watching Dennou Coil. But, .hack, at least what I saw of it was extremely boring. I had high hopes for what I was going to watch. I pictured it to be a mind-blowing cyberpunk universe. Instead, I got an uninteresting main character, dull supporting characters, and no plot. Maybe there was a plot, but i had no motivation to uncover it. The setting was rather disappointing as well. I was expecting something fanatical. This is the universe we can't live in real life right? Why would it be a carbon copy remake of our planet aside from a few portals?
