@Seiko1516 First episode has already been confirmed to be 23 minutes. And no timeslot for any episode is over 30 minutes.

Pretty sure if they have planned that exact amount of episodes, they know what they are doing.
We've already seen White Fox making first and last episodes extra long (1st one from 3rd season was triple length) and even in individual episodes they were sacrificing OP and ED to fill it with more content.
I think that saying that 4th season is doomed it a reach.

From the first season White Fox has been paying for commercials so that we can see a episode which is more than 23 minutes and even when the episodes cut opening and ending sequence the episodes are long enough on their own for example the part 2 of season 2 not even had a single episode under 26 minutes means the production company is paying so that episode runs for its whole without any cuts.
And I love ReZero because of its massiveness and story which is not provided in Isekai or Fantasy stories regularly they are soo rare even after reading every If routes and watching whole anime 2 times I still can't get enough and want to read main route volume and the side story of every character.

Honestly I don’t see what the big deal is?

Arc 3 was 5 volumes (4- most of 9) and took up 14 episodes

Arc 4 (Season 2) was 6 ish volumes (last bit of 9 through 15) and was 25 episodes

Arc 6 (Season 4) is 5 ish volumes (last bit of 20 through 25). 19 episodes seems like plenty going solely off rough volume to episode counts

Also to be honest, that post seems like it’s likely incorrect. Unless I am severely misunderstanding the information in the links they provided that apparently prove this to be true, all of season 3’s entries seem incorrect based on the episode length provided. Every episode seems to be listed at 22 minutes, even the extended ones. I checked episode 12 specifically (Regulus Corneas) because I know that one was extended. I check both episode 12 and episodes 15 and 16 (in case my math was off) and all three of them said 22 minutes. I then went and checked episodes from season 1 and 2 and their episode times are all accurate.

So in summation it seems like the leaker may have been jumping to conclusions based off of a clearly not updated listing (it also says each episode aired in 2024, which is wrong).

If official news comes out that it’s only 19 episodes, well fuck me I guess, but back to what I first said I don’t think that’d be as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be.

If it's really 19 then that will be a problem because even with the extended episodes season 2 had certain cut content, if you ask me, for a truly good adaptation even 22 episodes is little.

Of course, I'm not saying that season 2 was bad, far from it, I'm just saying that there are never enough episodes when it comes to the adaptation of LN.

@ThePiegirl Arc 6 would probably need a bit less than 24-25 episodes, even. I'd be happy with 22-23.

Also, the 19-episode leak is based on really old information, so please take it with a grain of salt. Ice himself recommends to wait and see for the actual episode count to be shared officially.

19 episodes is a joke. escpecially since the first episode is normal length and all the behind the scenes shenanigans that's gonna prevent White Fox from getting more than 23 minute episodes.

with the ownership changes behind the scenes, i thought that if nothing else, they could get this season done justice and we could discard anything that came after this. but no, we will likely have to discard this season too. i know some people will say I'm overreacting, but this season genuinely had the potential to be one of the best seasons in anime. it's not like season 2 where they had to adapt a very slow paced arc which can be difficult. this arc was pretty much perfect for a good anime adaptation. and with how much shit this IP has been though (covid, white fox going under, the season 3 cour split) fans deserved this season to be incredible. we can only hope the last episode is 90 minutes or something
