I've been really into It's MyGo and Ave Mujica for a while now, but I'm scared to get into them or any Bang Dream anime because I don't know if I'm missing out on too much content by not playing the rhythm mobile game.

Is there any problem if I enter the anime without having played the game?

I did not play any of the games, but I enjoy Mygo and Ave Mujica just fine. The story does a great enough job dropping hints in the early part to have pay off later in the show. I admit I don't know what I am missing not playing the game, but that does not affect my enjoyment. I acknowledge the CGI is mediocre but the story and characters carry the show for me and that's all I can ask for. Give it a watch.

You definitely don’t need the game to watch the anime. It’s a great game though so that’s a loss, but the anime stands up fine by itself. I didn’t play the game until after the most recent movie and all it does is retell some of the stories and add side stories that are game only. All episodic so not really important.

I have never played any of these games, but I still enjoy the anime, especially the original. S2 is the peak.

It starts moments after mygo ends, so that's a must watch prior to this.

Once you're caught up, if you want some backstory for Rana (MyGO's lead guitarist) and a light slice of life comedy away from the drama found in this MyGO/Ave arc, you can try Season 1.

Seasons 2 and 3 have minimal relevance to what's going on here other than an occasional cameo.

I watched all of the BanG Dream! franchise recently without playing the game at all and I found everything enjoyable except the start of S2 which can be a bit difficult

No. MyGo is basically a soft reboot of the franchise.

Though, I think it would be more enjoyable if you have some prior knowledge of the universe by watching season 1-3 and movies or by reading the main stories in the game.

Regarding the game, it is the backbone of bangdream and you can basically read/experience everything related to it there. I played it for a few years but ended up quitting due to the amount of bloats and repetitive gameplay loops. The main and band stories are fantastic, just that characters can only have that much personalities before being recycled over and over again.
Truth is absolute but human perception of truth is always relative.

There is nothing wrong with missing too much contents from BanG Dream universe if you only interested with MyGO and AveMuji. These two bands are barely related to the another bands except being in the same place, since I believe they are not intended to make it this far—but, they did anyway. Also, the game is just a part of the franchise and not the main thing.

If you are worried about the fandom, well I don't find anyone who seems to gatekeep this so far, so just get in and enjoy yourself here.

I treat the game as a sequel to the 3rd season of BanG Dream. I personally went from MyGO > Bandori S1 > Bandori S2 > Bandori S3 > Movies/OVAs > Play the game

You only need to watch MyGo before watching Ave Mujica since it contains setup for Ave Mujica, everything else is optional.
MyGo is like 2nd Generation Bang Dream and thus only relation with other bang dream is that: * it's same universe, *some cameo appearances.

When it comes to MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica, you're not required to have prior knowledge of the franchise or play the game. MyGO!!!!! were added to the game after the anime has finished too (like Ave Mujica is probably going to be too). If you've played the game, it just means a few more things will mean something to you (such as bands and characters making some cameo appearances here and there). MyGO!!!!! was the 4th anime season, but sort of acted as a good entry point to the series at the same time. Basically, you don't need to play the game to enjoy the animes. But do be aware, you do need to watch MyGO!!!!! before Ave Mujica.

But you can play the game if you want to explore further Mygo sequel stories after finishing the anime.

Ave Mujica will have to wait within this year or two for the game to add them into the new roster

Not at all! The Bang Dream anime is enjoyable on its own, even if you haven’t played the rhythm game. For more fun, you can also explore games at https://avbgames.net/
