Plot Summary

Alicia is the eldest daughter of the noble Williams family—a bloodline that excels in dark magic. Her jet-black hair and golden eyes command a powerful presence, but her most unique features are, without a doubt, her sharp tongue and malevolent nature. By all means, she is a villainess, but also a fictional character from an otome game!

As an ardent admirer of Alicia, a young, unnamed woman wishes to be her. Fortunately, a sleepy truck driver grants her wish in a bizarre twist of events—killing and consequently reincarnating her as a seven-year-old Alicia inside the game. With sufficient knowledge of how the game plays out, "Alicia" is confident that she will go down as the greatest villainess in history as long as she endeavors to work hard. However, she soon begins to realize that escaping Alicia's fate is not so simple as it seemed.

Villainess shows are back on the menu, boys.

This seems tentatively okay so far. Even if it is creepy that the prince is crushing on an 8 year old.

Episode 1

And here is yet another show featuring a villainess who was reincarnated into that role. This time, Alicia hopes to become like a man and take matters into her own hands. She's lifting weights, doing push-ups and sit-ups, and she even understands the lay of the land and the societal problems in the kingdom, all courtesy of her knowledge of the game. And while it was indeed Truck-kun who isekaied her, that wasn't shown. So far, this show is just alright, and while it isn't the worst thing out there, the other villainess isekais are better than this.

Looks like we have returned to the “reincarnated into an otome game” sub genre of Isekai. It’s a fairly well taken path; so far we have had:

-reincarnated as a villainess but not wanting to be the villainess so she won’t die

-reincarnated as a background character but somehow still ending up as important and upending the would-be story

-reincarnated as the (secret) villainess but deciding she doesn’t want anything to do with the story and just wants a quiet life

-reincarnated as the heroine but being in love with the villainess

-reincarnated as the villainess but instead of fighting the heroine, gets in a relationship with the final boss to secure a happy ending for herself

So, it will be very interesting to see how this take on the genre goes, since based on descriptions I’m interpreting the plot to be “reincarnated as the villainess but isn’t very good at actually being a villainess”

The set up for this show is definitely stands out compared to other titles, but it remains to be seen if this show will stand out. I’ll be sticking with my usual 3 episode rule to determine if I’m picking up the series

Not sure I've seen one where the MC actually WANTS to be a villainess though.

But, there's a manga I read a few years ago with an even more different twist, and IMO the story is better than a lot of these lately, so I am kind of surprised it doesn't have an anime.

I think it is called "Expecting to Fall Into Ruin, I Became a Blacksmith." It's about a guy who reincarnates into an otome game, but the character he reincarnates as is basically a nobody who ends up marrying the villainess and being exiled with her, so he resolves to pick up a skill to benefit him in exile.

The villainess is basically a misunderstood character and she and the MC develop their relationship naturally, and the way her character expresses her love for him is kind of cute.

You left out reincarnated as a villainess to be a heroic queen rather than an evil one. And pretty soon, we will be getting reincarnated as a villainess, who is still an old man at heart. These shows just keep on coming.

The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen? Dang, I can’t believe I forgot that one- that was a good one.

It will be an interesting juxtaposition though- a villainess who doesn’t want to be a villainess and a villainess who wants to be a villainess- which one will do better? Only time will tell

It is fun that she thinks she's being villainous, when actually she's being polite, dependable, and very useful. She needs to develop an evil laugh. That would probably help.

I'm enjoying it. But I want her to grow up fast. She's too young to be getting into a romantic situation.

If I had to take a guess- this show is probably based on a Light Novel and it’s following that story.

So, assuming this show is following the plot of said LN, when the LN has a time skip to the “present” then the anime will follow suit and time skip at that point too

Oops; my bad- I only skimmed that part so I missed it.

But my point still stands- if its following the LN plot, then there will be a time skip that corresponds with when one happens in the LN

Episode 2

In order to become the GOAT villainess as she aspires to do, Alicia is going around trying to learn as much as she can. She has been training hard to get strong, and now she's cramming in as much knowledge she can handle. And that includes learning the situation of the people in the kingdom as there are people who are struggling as she would find out. But seeing that it's unvillainlike to help everybody that she's between a rock and a hard place. And then Alicia is summoned by the king as he asks her some tough questions about the state of the country. And the answer she gives is that she hates it and that she rather earn her status rather than be born into it. Pretty much, Alicia is learning as much as she can but needs to keep her villainous ways intact and that answer she gave is the right balance of honesty and criticism.

Some time skipping makes the age differences a little less creepy but it does get a little confusing chronologically. I'm not sure if the child who was beaten has been in a coma for a year or I just got lost somewhere. Anyway, hope she learns some healing magic soon ("It's so my henchmen will be healthy!")

Pretty sure the picture in the book the prince was reading was of Loana. Makes me wonder if he has a connection to Will.

That didn't happen till after the time skip.

I was thinking there's probably a reason why they wait until someone is older before teaching them magic.

Episode 3

Alicia tries to infiltrate an academy and while doing so she meets the game's heroine, Liz. She's a commoner who worked hard to get into the academy, and she's also a Divergent whose talents are considered dangerous to the kingdom. Just like with other villainess isekai shows, the villainess becomes friends with the MC, and it turns out that despite being a commoner, Liz can use all the elements. After seeing what Alicia is capable of, her enrollment at magic academy is accelerated as she enrolls at age 13. So after three more years of training, she's now at Level 80 and has been named Liz's watcher. So pretty much, the first three episodes are a prologue to the main story that happens at the academy.

Still weird that the 'villainess' of the game is three years younger than the heroine.

The original game cast has been going to school together for greater than 3 years (3 years is an accelerated entrance) and how exactly is the little sister of one of the targets supposed to be a villain with any stakes?

Episode 4

Alicia has been appointed as Liz's watcher and has entered the academy at age 13. But before that, Alicia goes to a village after reading Liz's essay about the village and saves Rebecca's life, and turns her into her personal servant. And then she starts life at the academy where she's teleported by the Prince Duke, who is supposed to be in love with somebody else at this stage of the game. Then Liz puts on a big tea party having gathered a bunch of boys around her seeing that she's the game's heroine, and Alicia throws her essay in front of her, a totally villainess move. While Liz means well with equality, Alicia reminds her how delusional her idea is, which is exactly how Alicia planned it. Alicia is certainly doing everything she can to make sure she's the villainess and making sure Liz plays her role as the heroine the way she wants it.

@GridironOtaku Well, that's different. Depending on where it's shown (streaming) I might watch an episode or two, but that reminds me of the anime where a guy is transformed into a heroine. I don't remember the name, though.

So in this show when the naive heroine says that villainess is just trying to help it's actually true.

In the original game the villainess went bad partly because Duke didn't give her the time of day.

Kind of lame storywise if this is the case, but heroine might be yandere-ing for the same reason.

My favourite part was where the heroine assisted the murder of the villainess and the only person who gives her shit about it is the prince who had to save her life from the heroine. I get she has charisma or saint powers or whatever but nobody loses all logic and reason just because someone says "Let's all be friends okay?". Try being friends with a blade in your chest, stupid cunt.

At this point i'm convinced the heroine is actually malicious and manipulating everyone. Also, whoever wrote all the logical realistic comebacks and criticisms knows their stuff to a degree where it doesn't break immersion. Quite enjoying it so far.

One complaint I have about the dialogue is the co-star characters are constantly discussing Alicia and Liz and only using pronouns, shifting back and forth between the two without using their names and it's difficult to tell which of the two they are currently discussing.

Despite the show's annoying (though probably financially necessary) habit of having all action scenes take place offscreen, I remain somewhat impressed with the character writing and development.

I get the impression that the game dynamic is starting to overlay Alicia's own personality a bit. She may start having to fight against it.
