Why is this anime rated so low? (6 stars)

Hey y'all, so I was wondering why this anime is kinda low compared to others in this summer season. Personally I scored it an 8. I think the concept is good,girl doesn't know what love is, guy helps her and believes she's his soulmate. The main character dude is a little obsessive which is why i docked a point also his attitude towards others really is off putting. That's why its an 8 but episodes 10-12 were REALLY good and I'm glad I stuck through.

People said the animations are bad and the background music behind serious scenes ruin the mood but I actually liked it lol

I doubt we'll get a season two but hopefully it will be in the works! I just want to know what y'all imputs on the anime is, what u liked, what u didn't like, that's all,thanks :)

Well for me the main guys character felt bland to me and lacked any form of development through the story. Also the whole thing about his parents not around, being the reason for how he treated others (besides whatever the main girls name was ) made no sense. The story surrounding his parents just went nowhere as a whole.

As someone that is on the manga, I'll give it a 9.3 outta 10. Most people were put off by Hananoi's character and personality. I guess they couldn't get it and ended up not liking the anime overall.
That's an obvious reason I'm sure everyone had.
It would have been the same for me if I hadn't read the manga months before the anime started. I started the manga, was bothered and troubled about his personality too but the more I progressed, I started to love everything about the manga. When I started, it was a 4 for me but when I caught up, easy 9.3. I won't blame them for not liking the anime cause of him, it's understandable.
And a lot of people complained about some plot holes and all and how they weren't answered, I get. They were answered later in the manga beyond where the anime stopped in it. So maybe their judgements were a bit too early and off? I have no right to say that. It's what the anime showed so it's what they got.
I gave it a 6, why? The animation quality. Felt so poor and inconsistent. It ruined the story for me.
That's my sole reason.
And on the manga, I can't stress how good it is tbh.
But I won't force anyone to read it if they don't like Hananoi. I respect that.

I hated the guy because he gave major stalker/rapist vibes throughout the entire show and made me uncomfortable with any scene that had to do with him. Also the animation and music sucked as well.

overall it’s pretty good but i think it’s because of the guy , he’s basically a complete stalker and pretty weird and not a lot of people are into that so they give it a low score.

Hananoi kun is definitely the reason this rating was given by many, i didnt care much abt the little things, i didnt know the manga but went into the anime naturalé, and the progression is pretty amazing, i loved it for what it was, my score is alot of things in one, which i honestly couldnt explain now, but i still stand by it.

naah i think the start was preety good but fell of after 3 episodes when they showed he had very bad past then it was nothing the whole series focused on two main character using the same trick every episode no side characters were good which made it boring and the ending made it worse because of that there are many anime like it but which are executed in the better and good story telling u can watch them and then compare how blant and waste this was
initially i had high hopes for this anime but episode by episode it fell of at start it felt like the mc is very dangerous and spycho type person then at the end he was just a Stalker from her childhood

The usual “I don’t have any genuine reason to complain about this anime, so I’ll just complain about ‘bad animation’ and ‘bad music / sound’ to make it appear like I have a valid reason to say it was a bad anime”.

I just ignore the majority of these people since they are just the crowd sheep influence.

The anime itself was interesting and entertaining, every episode had me wanting to see the next episode.

I rated it a (7) Good because of the reasons you said, the guy’s interaction with other people was off putting and his obsessive attitude was creepy.

I really don’t understand why each person has to be “flawed”, the “she doesn’t know what love is” was more than an enough reason to have an anime based around it, but having him be a “creepy mean loner that hates everyone else”, was over the top.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Regardless of his reasons, it comes down to the fact the main male lead was in fact creepy. I get he has his backstory and all, but that’s not enough for me to justify doing that to the main female lead.

its a really common trope where the girl who hasn't had a boyfriend ever falls for the guy who has had many girlfriend, other than that, the characters aren't that special, the animation is boring and the story aint even that great

honestly a well deserving 5.5/10

Honestly for me it’s mainly that the side cast was so bland and forgetful, I can’t even think of any of the characters. I haven’t watched a ton of romances, but the ones I have watched and enjoyed typically have a really good surrounding cast that adds to the show and main characters. The only people I remember from this show are the 2 MC’s, so that’s a big complaint for me personally.

Plus of course the 2 MC’s themselves have to be appealing, and Hananoi comes across as pretty off putting in a manner different from someone like say, Ichikawa from BokuYaba.

Sadly, I don't see anyone following this rule.

Everyone has expressed sadness in the forums over a an anime they like being underrated or an frustration over an anime they don't like be overly praised.

I myself have been guilty in the past, but I will refrain after this.

The romance itself was bland, I also personally found hotaru annoyingly infuriating with how much of a Mary sue she was. And the fact that Hananoi is too good for her. I might get flamed for that but I just can’t stand her. That’s not what caused me to rate the show low; however, I think overall the story was weak and the character development was lacking.

For people who r reading the manga, it becomes more visible how the anime is kind of weird. The animation is ugly and the characters are not well developed

Personally I gave it a 6, I didn't feel it was special from many other animes I have saw... I mean it was good but just that there's anything of the anime that makes it different from others besides the male character obsession and that wasnt even interesting.
