| This show was so much fun. The characters have been so well fleshed out, designed and animated that not every interaction needs to (or indeed, does) serve the purpose of moving the plot forward or contributing to an arc; sometimes they just let the characters interact and hilarity ensues. It's the Seinfeld of romcoms, an "anime about nothing" but enthralling nevertheless. Still, if it's not a hard tease, the show is definitely hinting at a future Nukumizu x Anna ship. Nukumizu's multiple admissions of lack of romantic attraction throughout the episode (and before) are the equivalent of death flags. Besides, she's one whose crisis initiated his entire current social situation, and they have a dynamic that's been developed and established since ep.1. As much as he might match Komari temperamentally, he's just on the same level as Anna in so many ways. The supporting cast (with the exception of Kaju) is deliciously awful, too. And in the final episode, the vice prez of the student council finally called out the 4 bow uniform situation, lol. Really hope this gets a second season. Solid 9/10. |

| It was a bit lacking for a season finale, especially with how great it's been for almost, if not every episode which made me expect a grand conclusion to this season. Not to mention the cinematography also felt a bit normal for this episode. But it was a fun episode nonetheless. I guess that's to be expected from an Anime-original episode. It was likely done as a filler so they didn't have to tease the next chapter too much, months or years before the continuation. I'm just glad the Nuk/Yanami ship has been set to sail. I'm eagerly looking forward for the next season! 9/10. It breathes life back to the classic Rom-Com genre with its unique premise and well-executed humor, amplified by its very high production quality and good directing. |

| I kept wondering throughout the episode if Nukumizu was supposed to be the fake boyfriend or if she was just going to make up a character who she never shows, but she did take a picture of Nukumizu...but no way he can pass for someone old enough to have a job that requires him to live overseas. Loved the near 4th wall break with the 4 ribbons. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and it's in the running for anime of the season. But I'm not sure it gets into my 9/10 realm I'm going 8.5/10, but rounding down to 8/10 for my MAL score. |

| The show I looked forward to most all season. I think I'm even happy with the ending; if Nuk and Anna had gotten any further I wouldn't have really believed it, but the stage was set for "friends who just get so comfortable with each other that they end up together without realizing it" and I can imagine the progression from there. Better yet, Lemon (who will definitely have plenty of suitors of her own) and Komari (who may come out of her shell at some point) both seemed on board with the Nuk/Anna ship and will be pushing for it. I'd love another season, but if it doesn't happen, I can live with this ending. |

I guess nothing given Nukumizu's reaction and Anna's exasperation that he never plays along with her teasing Yeah if she had kissed him, he wouldn't have been so deadpan/unflustered afterwards... |

| I really enjoyed the ending. It was fun seeing all the characters again. And that poke at the ribbons was so self-aware. XD The ending gave plenty of ammo for the Anna x Nuku shippers. (Even Lemon and Komari seem onboard.) Definitely the most fun I've had with an anime rom com since Tomo-chan Is a Girl. |

| Episode 12: Losing Heroines Be Crazy You can tell that this was an anime original episode; Komari got truncated to one-liners, Anna was way more ridiculous than usual, as was Kaju, and the thing with Cleavage-san was way too self-referential. But it also made much more clear just how much of a pain the girls are, and though it might just have been the kind of performative intensification (e.g., doubling down on prior jokes) that usually arises in fanfiction-type works like this, the way it turned out is indistinguishable from how it'd look had it deliberately chosen to make the girls look bad. So whether or not the show knew what it was doing, it ended up pretty good. Not that I think the girls are at all terrible. Lemon kind of bogged the thing down for a while, and Anna went way too far this last episode, but what we got from Makeine was a demonstration that it's normal for girls to be flawed and quirky. And though it maybe could have done better on the whole, episode 12 at least apologized somewhat to Nukumizu for harassing him with these girls' problems. The show kind of lost track of its initial notion, that high school relationships tend not to last, but it ended up saying that girls are people too (a rare and difficult thing for anime to convey), that having relationships with them means dealing with their problems—and that despite the problems, it's still worth it, because girls and relationships are good. We should have a second season; this was more than good enough for it, though I have to say the 8/10 I give it is a low 8. A second season will have to call the girls out for being so shameless and willing to take advantage of Nukumizu. Whatever the case, may Komari's VA get more work. The art, and the Komari noises, definitely made Makeine superior. |

| Yay? I'm wondering how I feel about a second season, now that it is happening. I loved the first season, pretty much everything about it, and I even felt that the last episode had an almost-adequate ending. I'm worried that another season will wreck it somehow. Of course, despite my trepidation, I will be watching it anyway. |
| Yessir! Watching it for sure. (That release date better not be 2027 -_-) I was a bit bummed when they kind of rushed Yanami and Nuk's relationship development in the TV original finale of season 1 but, it's a comedy Anime; they can reset the pace in a snap. And now that I think about it, I guess that's the only thing left for them to do anyway-- tackling Yanami and Nuk's romance. Unless there's some more characters they wanna include. They might also explore Yanami's backstory with his ex a bit. |
