Just binged like the latest four episodes.

Better to find bones than the alternative. Yanking the half digested corpse of Falin out of the dragon would be even worse nightmare fuel than just finding the bones.

So the one guy was supposedly in love with Falin, but decided to bail on the party rather than go back to try and resurrect her before it's too late. OK sure...

@zkeleton More of a "Don't worry I'll pay for dinner" love than a "I would fight a dragon for you" love.

Damn that was a lot more brutal than I was expecting. Surprisingly good action in this show. I like Marcielle's hair up. Soooo are they too late? Or I am going to assume bones are enough if they were going through the trouble of digging through all those guts to find them.

Episode 12

While Falin was largely devoured, her bones are still there, and while still faint, her soul is still attached. So Marcille tries to revive her knowing that the other options are to bring her bones up or bring a revival specialist down to the dungeon and it works. To get her strength back, Senshi cooks up the dragon, all while the party camps out at one of the buildings in the village that has been largely abandoned. So with that, Falin is back, but now a dark elf has arrived. Great to see that Falin was able to be revived here in the dungeon, though it took quite a lot out of Marcille to do it.

All that was left of Falin was her bones, but evidently that was enough for Marcille to start playing the role of a necromancer, using dragon flesh to reconstitute her body. Then Senshi cooks some dragon meat for everyone to eat, and they set up camp in one of the abandoned houses for the night. Also, now everyone knows about Laios's living sword.

Hold on, isn't that the elf from the paintings at the end?

Hmm that resurection was (surprised we got a blood covered nipple) pretty cool (just in time for Easter :P ), Marcielle is a little darker than we thought. Now what did she say about as long as they erase the magic circle and her being mistaken for a "dark" elf?

Finally caught up! Man, is this good!
I appreciate how every single episode always involves food in one way or another, not missing a beat with its concept.
Be it a regular episode or a backstory episode, food will always be a part of it and not in a forced or out-of-place way.

I wouldn't say the characters are anything to write home about individually but, the dynamics and chemistry of the entire party are definitely there.

I'm not looking forward to anything about the story, but I'm definitely looking forward to watching more just for the quality and vibe of it.

I don't think her knowing that ancient magic was an ass pull considering that she said she wanted to create dungeons. You'd probably need to know that kind of ancient magic to be able to do that.

Episode 13

As it turns out, that dark elf is the king of the dungeon and the one who creates all the monsters and landscapes there, and by slaying the red dragon and reviving Falin the party has incurred his wrath. As such, he comes in to take Falin away and tries to kill the rest of the party by dropping them into a trap, but they escape. They meet the orc chief Zon's daughter, and seeing that Zon knows Senshi that she's helping them in whatever way possible. Chilchuck admits to being a coward as he's trying to convince everybody to return to the surface and regroup, and after talking about it, they agree that's the best course of action. So back to the surface they go as it's clear that everybody is worn out. That dark elf sure is going to be quite difficult to deal with as now everybody has gotten on his bad side after everything that happened.

Egad, it turns out the elf from the paintings is the lord of the dungeon, and he's got some powerful ancient magic at his disposal! Marcille's magic must have used more than just the dragon's flesh to reconstitute Falin's body, as the mad mage talks to her as if she's the dragon before he does something to her. After getting out of that sticky situation, Laios's group encounter some orcs coming back to the settlement, and once Chilchuck gathers up everyone's belongings, he convinces Laios to head back to the surface for now. Looks like Falin will have to be rescued later.

Time for new theme songs with the show now in the second half.

Episode 14

It's back to the surface to regroup after the party's encounter with the lord of the dungeon Thistle. In the meantime a couple of days earlier, Kabaru's party is headed for the surfiace after getting their food stolen by Laios and his party in an earlier encounter. But Kabru is being tailed by corpse collectors who were looking to profit off their deaths not realizing that somebody had revived them beforehand. They have Kabru's party members attacking each other through illusion magic, but that failed, and seeing how shameless they are that Kabru punishes them. Kabru deduces that it was Falin who they sensed. Then they cross the lake and a sea serpent attacks them, but it's Shuro to the rescue as he's also looking for Falin, So with that, it's back to the present where Laios and his party are headed for the exits, but get lost on the way out. Good to know more about the other party that's in the dungeon given everything that's going on.

Kabru's party is revived by Tansu, and then the corpse retrievers who revived them the first time use illusion magic to make them attack each other. But once the retrievers' ploy fails, Kabru kills them all. While having a meal with the retrievers' rations, Kabru deduces the people who took their treasure and food are Laios's party. Then while crossing the lake, a sea serpent attacks them. The sea serpent is dispatched by Shuro, the other member who left Laios's party, and he's formed a new party to search for Falin. Meanwhile, Laios's group is lost while trying to get out of the dungeon.

I sure hope Kabru doesn't plan on killing Laios and his group when they find them. Kabru also seems to have a blind sense of justice to him.

I now feel so wrong considering this as "lighthearted". It's getting darker by episode.
Kabru is exuding more dark energy than the dark elf.
Him observing Laios' party and getting so much intel on each of them, even from way before their OG line up were disbanded screamed creepy and fishy. And now, it looks like he's planning to use Shuro's emotions to his advantage.
He seem to see himself as some kind of 'Key to big change' and, looks like he's planning on becoming just that using any means necessary.

A bit of a slow down, this episode. So much planting of plot seeds. But at least Kabru and his team is officially in the game now.

I like that scene of Team Laios lovingly hugging each other while Marcille is just dead. xD

Episode 15

And it's back to the main party as they decided to return to the surface, but they are trapped inside the city where they slayed the dragon, and the town is coming back to life with monsters who hid from the dragon now returning. Needing to eat something, they battle some dryads as they release pollen to cause spring allergies. But after washing it off, they come across some dryad crops to eat, all while Marcille uses dryad branches to temporarily repair her staff. Marcille teaches some magic to Laios, and that knocks him out seeing that he is using it for the first time. And while Marcille, Chilchuck, and Senshi are observing the changing patterns of the bricks, they run into a cockatrice, and while they defeat it, Marcille gets bitten by the snake head and gets petrified. Laios tries his hand at magic and manages to unpetrify her with the help of that cucumber plant Chilchuck found and the meal Senshi cooked with the cockatrice. While things got serious and everybody is in a tough situation, this party still has to eat.

The layout of the dungeon is changing, hampering Laios's party's progress to get out. Laios, Senshi, and Chilchuck battle some dryads, while at the same time dealing with hay fever as a result of the pollen they release. Then after Marcille makes a temporary fix to her staff, she teaches Laios some magic, and Laios gets hit with mana sickness. While Laios is recovering, the others run into a cockatrice. Marcille gets bit by it while defeating it, and she turns to stone. Laios, Senshi, and Chilchuck work on unpetrifying her for four days, and she eventually returns to normal.

Quite a few hilarious postures this episode, like Chilchuck trying to blend into the wall and the various instances where everyone's sneezing.

This is actually staying pretty entertaining, helps when there is an acrual plot going on besides the whole cooking sequences. Those today's food was pretty funny.
One question though when Marcielle was about to turn to stone, I get why they wanted her to crouch down, but why did she have to take off her pants?
Edit: found the answer the clothes would get in the way of her legs fusing together when crouched in a ball. Also for got how detailed the scene was when Laios mentioned whoops he broke her eyelashes and when she turned back you could see only her right eye had eyelashes.
Also forgot how funny the Chilchuk/Senshi scen was where he is "stop treating me like a kid" and senshi proceeds to give him the "talk". LOL

Episode 16

While the party is strapped in the city, Chilchuck notices a pattern of how the dungeon changes. They noticed a huge gash where the dragon was slain, and it turns out that the walls have cleaners in then. And then the party makes it to the stairs where they eat a meal while Marcille wears a frog costume, and are met by Shuro's party, and then Kabru's party. Everybody catches up with each other, and Shuro finds out that Marcille has used black magic, which makes Laios and his party criminals. So it's no wonder why that dark elf did what he did there as using forbidden magic has gotten them in deep trouble. But now, they have some help from Shuro and Kabru, all while Falin is not exactly herself anymore having become a chimera of sorts. This was pretty tension-filled seeing that what Laios and his party did makes them targets.

Marcille thrusting the gang into the wall was a silly maneuver. Then they finally make it to the stairs leading up, and as they're eating a celebratory meal, Shuro's and Kabru's parties show up. Kabru's acting like Laios's tactic of eating monsters is interesting, but inwardly, he's actually a bit repulsed by the idea. Now Shuro and Kabru know that Marcille used black magic to revive Falin, which could put Laios's party in deep trouble if the elves find out. And it seems the dark elf mage has turned Falin into a dragon chimera.

At least they added a non human character in the Oni girl to at least try to keep up with the western characters who are all different races.

Laios and company is in deep trouble after using black magic to revive Falin as keeping the word from reaching the surface is the least of their worries. But then Falin the chimera attacks and is wiping out Shuro's and Kabru's party before Laios wounds it and causes Falin to retreat after unleashing a loud screech. Then afterwards Laios and Shuro get into a heated fight. As it turns out, Shuro is in love with Falin, and is none too pleased that Laios got her killed like that. So after talking things out the two parties decide to return to Shuro's homeland in the Far East, while Laios and his party decide to go deeper into the dungeon to confront Thistle knowing that nothing good awaits them on the surface after using black magic. Things got really heated there, but in the end they managed to at least have Shuro understand the situation.

The journey continues deeper into the dungeon and they are walking through a snow storm. When the dust settles, the party encounters clones of themselves and that's the work of shape shifters. But the clones can be told apart since they copy the way they are seen by the other party members, and as such some of them are clearly fakes. However, there are two clones left for each person, and Laios decides to determine the real one by having them cook a meal. And it's through the preparation methods that Laius found out who the fakes are, all while by turning into a dog and barking that it flushed the shape shifter out, and the fakes turned to leaves. Just when it looked like the party was in the clear, Izutsumi comes in and threatens the party. Pretty funny that was to see just how off the mark some of the fakes are, as well as the thought process to tell who's the real one, but they got it right in the end.

That catgirl Asebi is a member of Shuro's party who decided to follow the party rather than go home with Shuro, and she has a curse she wants the party to remove. She had been looking for a black magic user and thinks Marcille is the one who can lift the curse but her knowledge of black magic is rather limited. Asebi can't exactly hold a spoon correctly, and Senshi is letting her know about it. Then Marcille is having a nightmare and Laios is experiencing it as well that was the result of her casting that spell on Falin, and she fears death. Laios helps Marcille overcome it. As it turns out, the nightmare was caused by a bunch of clams sneaking into Marcille's pillow that turns her dreams into a mirage, though it didn't exactly play out the way she remembers it. Pretty surreal that dream was, all while Asebi needs to get her stuff straight.

Then Marcille has a nightmare induced by monsters, so Laios goes into her dream to help her overcome her fears. @MenchiK1 The closest animal (in terms of appearance at least) in our world to dragons are dinosaurs. There are numerous studies indicating that birds trace their evolutionary lineage to dinosaurs. Farin's chicken features might me a nod to that evolutionary lineage.

I wasn't expecting to get another party member, but Izutsumi seems fun and I do like her design. Based on her skillset, I think she might have the role of scout (or assassin) in the party.

The party makes it to the place where they fought the red dragon, which was the deepest part until a door appeared, and this time they encounter an ice golem. Izutsumi was left to defeat it and she does that by stabbing its weak point with an arrow. Afterwards, they warm up with some heating magic and some soup before continuing to venture through the snow. There, they encounter a barometz, a sheep staked on a stalk, but the wolves got to most of the good ones, and Senshi makes barometz chops out of them. Marcille talks about not being a picky eater seeing that Izutsumi is being one and eats the barometz chops, but if she said that, she can't weasel out of not eating that which apparently she's hesitant to eat. This episode is all about integrating Izutsumi as part of the party seeing that she's got a lot to learn if she wants to make it.
