I feel like it means "was it the power that made you how you are or was it how you are that made you powerful". But then again it could also be some bs nonsense to make it seem intellectual or deep.

imagine this line comes back to bite gojo in the ass, because the way I see it if you take one thing away from him, his personality or his strength, he would crumble. Just a matter of figuring out which one actually defines him.

I believe he is questioning Gojo's identity and motivation. After the Riko incident, Gojo became far stronger than Geto, but Geto found a conviction and a goal in his life. And now he's asking if Gojo has something similar. Did he decide to become the strongest for a purpose, or is his power itself what defines the way he is? If you ask me, Gojo does have his own purpose, since he became stronger after seeing that he couldn't protect Riko. In season 1 we also see that he wants to change Jujutsu society, so that is another purpose of his own.

He's basically asking Gojo if his personality is connected to the power he has. Is Gojo the person he his because he's the strongest or would he act and feel differently about the world if he wasn't?

imo. these words hold a lot of significance, Are you the strongest? are you strongest because you're all alone? are you strongest because you're all by yourself? are you strongest because you've your comrades and partner? or having all these things makes you the "strongest". As gojo said "Don't worry i'm the strongest" in S1 and in S2 that "I" turned into "we". basically questioning wether he's the strongest by himself or the strong-ness is what makes him who he actually is. Also, i think he's questioning the entire existence of gojou satoru..

It is a continuation of their conversation. Geto says if he was actually the strongest like Gojo he could wipe out non-sorcerers easily. But then again, would he be willing to do that if he was the strongest? Now if you look at it in reverse, you could say even though Gojo does not want to go with Geto's route, is it because he is the strongest that he doesn't want to kill all non sorcerers or is it because he's the type of guy who doesn't like to choose the easy way out that he became the strongest.

That statement is really interesting. For me it's like "you're strong because you have that 'privilage' in your name, or you are strong because you are you, with all your hardwork and sacrifice". Really deep and multi-interpretation statement.

Obviously it's a chicken or the egg situation but I also think it's a threat. If Geto (somehow) kills Gojo, he would be the strongest. And being the strongest would make him Gojo by default. So it's another way of saying, "you're not special because you're Gojo, you're Gojo because you're special and if you were to cease being special (being killed) then you would no longer be Gojo". I think it's a way of demystifying Gojo and bringing him his confidence down to simple math.

It's like this:
Are you who you are beacuse of what you achieve/d/will achieve
or
Does what you achieve make you who you are

I think it's like, oh, it's not the achievements but the person who achieves them

But in this context I think he was questioning if Gojo was like from desteny, always suposed to be the strongest independently of who he was...or if it was beacuse of who he is that he achieved that title.

Or maybe not.
