What is blud smoking. The piano music during the fights at some parts creates almost an eerie undertone to it. An example of that is Gojo vs Toji. The piano when he enters purple makes it feel like an event, not just a fight

I’m with you, jjk soundtrack doesn’t do it for me either, but that was the case with s1 as well. Not to say all of it is bad, but most of it is just alright with a few great moments (e.g the piano for gojo’s awakening). The soundtrack’s the weakest part of the series for me overall

I don't particularly like the Gojo Vs Toji first fight (the one where Gojo..sword..yk) music. Other than that it seems fine to me.

Those jazz songs (not sure if it’s only one or there’s a few of them) are actually so epic. I think they’ll grow on you.

I love it when they're fighting and the fast, piano music starts playing. It fits the mood and animation so well in my opinion; very unique choice as well.

I somewhat agree but for a different reason.

I quite like the jazz music but for me, my personal issue is that I didn't find much of the OST memorable for this season. The only one I could remember was the piano track used during the Riko scenes and Gojo's awakening. That one was great but the rest? Forgettable.

Which leads to my next point, about how I think this approach actually suits the flashback arc. Not sure how to explain it, but to me, it feels very appropriate for this arc. I however, hope we return to the pop/hip-hop style for the next arc, especially since our main cast is back and we return to the 2010s. I think the hip-hop style tracks suits JJk's urban supernatural fantasy motive and I really hope we get to hear more of those style of tracks for the Shibuya arc.

I have the same. I like calm music, but I have the impression that the ost in most scenes did not fit at all. I miss those strong, rock, or more energetic osts like in the first season. E.g. during the Hanami fight with everyone or Gojo fight, Mahito theme etc. Even the ost where Gojo fought Sukuna in the second episode was better and more distinctive than most of what season 2 has offered so far.

The music is not bad at all, but sometimes it just doesn't fit (at least for me)
For example, the piano music was great, the geto vs toji fight had some of the best ost this season, but the part when gojo uses red for the first time? That was damn Kahoot music like, and the gojo vs toji first encounter was not bad at all but it reminded me of mob psycho instead of jujutsu kaisen.
In moments like that it just come to my mind ost's like: Countermasure for domain expansion (from season 1) and 7 to 3 (from season).
Aside from that, this is my favorite anime of the season and ep 4 is my anime of the season.

well in the ends it's subjective. I personally think the ost used in Gojo and Toji firsy encounter couldn't create the hype I expected it to.

right? I don't hate the osts in this season but i just don't feel anything , the only time I got hype/excited for jjk fight was the last episode episode of season 1,the soundtrack that was used in that episode was pure hype

Don't get me wrong, i don't hate every osts specially for the emotional and calm moments but for action scenes like the first encounter of toji and gojo and for geto and toji fight scenes was ain't it, but the ost which was used for the climax scene with gojo was heavenly tho
