| Good question. Remember that honorifics-usage are for people you look up to or approach with formality. When Aqua called Kana by her last name "Arima", he calls her as if her were older and in the perception of Dr. Gorou Amamiya. In fact, it's true. It's Dr. Gorou Amamiya calling Kana by her last name, "Arima"; hence, not even using any honorifics against her. Or, perhaps, Aqua doesn't view Kana as a "senpai"; hence, him calling Kana by her last name, "Arima", and without any honorifics at all. On the other hand, Aqua calls Akane by her first name because he already saw Akane imitate Ai (the last scene of episode 7 where Akane's eyes transformed into stars). That might have initiated the whole thing; thus, he started calling Akane by her first name and without honorifics. Kid Aqua never called Ai, "Ai-san". So, when teenager Aqua saw Akane, it's kid Aqua inside him initiating and starting the whole thing to not call Akane with any honorifics because kid Aqua sees Akane as if his substitute mom (hence, Aqua obeying every command or order that Akane [with star eyes] was giving to Aqua on episode 7). All of this is just my speculation; so, take it with a grain of salt. |
