It seemed pretty thematic that she died, with the whole life flashing before her eyes thing. Not to mention how she possibly could have survived that would make literally no sense and Oda is a better writer than that. I think the situation more than implied her death, it wasn't necessary to show it.

yeh, first time in over 1000 Episodes, i skipped 80% of the epiodes. had a little OP burnout and had 70 Episodes to catch up.. skipped after a while most of them, couldnt stand this shit arc and only wached the important episodes like the fight with Katakuri . xD

She should not be dead. Knowing that Nami still posses Zeus and that he still exists means that big mom should be alive. Due to the fact that if she dies her devil fruit powers disappear as well.

Not necessarily. Zeus was giving life through an awakened devil fruit, for all intents and purposes he is his own living being. It's not like he was explicitly being powered by the fruit. It's really no different than if Akainu and Aokiji died Punk Hazard wouldn't suddenly go back to being normal. It's just an after effect. It would only be careful if her power was currently active, like she was mind controlling them as puppets which isn't the case.

Zeus is a piece of Big Mom's soul and still functions just normally. If Big Mom died, he would've died too. Zeus being around means there's a chance Big Mom survived. It's easy to come up with the plausible scenarios: she just needs to pour her soul out and the crust rock, or the mantel magma even, can grab her once alive and not hurt her. Sure, it'll take a very long time for her, who is on the brink of death physically anyways, to crawl or lift herself back up from being miles deep into the planet, but that condition doesn't mean she's dead.

To those who argue that big mon can’t possibly survive, let me say this; with some exceptions, Oda has shown us characters live trough the impossible.

For example, Pell who literally got blown up by a bomb supposedly able to destroy a whole town and Bon Clay who… Let’s just say he sacrificed himself a lot and came back just 300 chapters later :)

Therefore, we can’t know if she’s dead or not until it somehow gets stated in the manga or by Oda himself. I mean, who knows if she’ll pop up as our clown’s last opponent some hundreds of chapters later.
