| don't let it's reputation as some kind of soul-crushing depression fest ruin your enjoyment. The soul crushing part that finally happens in After Story is so effective because you got to also experience the happy times in season 1. |

| There's not just one story for this anime. The anime is mainly about Tomoya making new friends with a sad story. Like almost every visual novel. Some arcs in the first season are serious and sad. But the anime has more serious arcs in the second season. If you don't like this type of anime, drop it. |

| It gets serious in the second season, but I do think the first season and first episodes of the second one makes the sad part hit even more emotionally. |

| I was also kind of disappointed when I first started watching Clannad since they said it was so good. Then I started watching after story and I understood why it was good. Just keep watching. |
