I am still pretty confused on the end of the show. I have heard that after Emporio defeats Pucci it goes back to the original timeline except that Pucci never existed. Is that confirmed in any way? I think that would be a great ending but I don’t get why they would change her name to Irene. That makes me think that this is a whole new universe where the previous parts never happened. Anyone have knowledge on this? I really want to believe that everyone didn’t actually “die” and this isn’t some new universe that doesn’t really matter.

it being changed to irene is thematic
it means that the joestars are freed from the curse of having to fight the brandos.
the previous parts did happen in this new universe, as proven with thus spoke kishibe rohan having its newer chapters set after part 6 and his character remains the same.
and by the fact that pucci had no influence on those parts nor did he kill anyone from them.
pucci not existing caused a butterfly effect.
he doesnt exist>anasui, weather, ermes, jolyne dont have to suffer through what they went through part 6.

When Pucci remade the universe everyone who died didn’t get to come back into because you needed to be alive in his universe to know your fate. When it was remade again after the final fight everyone was brought back and they are allowed a much happier life. I don’t know if it’s ever confirmed if the previous parts happened but I would assume not since Irene isn’t in prison.

I think araki completely reset the Jojo universe and created a one where nothing happened between joestar bloodline and everyone had a different identity but their fate and relations are intertwined.

You can have an interesting phylosophical debate on this. Yeah, they have the same souls but they don't have their original memories and experiences, so are they really the same people? But yeah, it is a universe without Pucci's influence and now the Joestars are finally free. Jolyne is now named Irene because she's no longer fated to have a bizarre adventure.

Yes and no. Emporio got the killing blow but the only reason he was able to get that chance is because Jolyne saved him. If Jotaro didn’t save Jolyne emporio wouldn’t have gotten into the new universe.

If jotara didn't save jolyne then that would have been the end of Pucci and made in heaven do you really believe if jotara start ora ora on Pucci he will survive btw araki has himself confirmed star platinum has the strongest physical strength in og universe

If jotaro actual hit Pucci he would have died yes but I believe ending shows that Pucci was fated to lose to no matter what.

Yay he was fated to lose man but man ending not so good for me as my favourite character in whole Jojo is jotaro and he didn't get to land the final blow because of his daughter sad lyf
