| Drifters is really good, Shimazu Toyohisa is an anti-hero, and alongside him is Oda Nobunaga. Really cool mashup of historical fiction/fantasy with an isekai world. It’s written and drawn by Kouta Hirano, so if you like Hellsing and his art style it’s right up your alley. Hasn’t been picked up for a 2nd season yet, but with the ending saying “Will return in 20XX” we still got like 70 years to see it’s return lol. |
| I also asked this question ever since i found Ovelord a few years ago. After watching many recommended anime, plus manga's nothing really hit home as well as Overlord does sadly. It is truly that unique. The closest I've come to found are some original stories on scribblehub. Two I like there are Undying Empire and Dead Tired. Something different to try to your normal recommendations here. |
