If you watch the main tv series you will already know I guess 80% of the characters present in the movie, however in my experience, I read Jujutsu Kaisen 0 before the tv series and it helped me understand certain aspects of the main story, so in my opinion I believe that it’s not a problem watching the movie before the series since it was made for this purpose as a prequel.

This is kind of a Backstory of JJK series.
i also am from India and just a few hours ago I went to watch the movie. it doesn't contain stuff from the series. As I said its a story before the series precisely 1 year before incidents from the series.

You won't be familiar with the supporting cast of Jujutsu Kaisen as you will be meeting them for the first time, so instead of a flashback the show will feel like the sequel that it is. Aspects of the show will make more sense, especially the focus antagonist and his actions in Jujitsu Kaisen, as that is explored here but not the show. The only downside in my opinion is you won't have as much connection to the cast and won't have as much knowledge of the power systems of Jujutsu Kaisen hopping right into the film. To my recollection, there aren't any spoilers and you won't ruin the show by watching the movie first.

When I watched JJK 0 I was no more the 6 episodes into the series and didn’t I have any problems understanding the movie, I would say you should be fine watching the movie first, to be honest I was happy I watched the movie before finishing the series because it helped me understand things in the series

there is no problem in it

its just that you will not understand some minor things which jjk series watchers would understand

in short you can watch the movie first and then the tv anime , you will get it all

The thing with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is that it is based on a manga that came out before the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and was written as an introduction to the world.

I watched it after I finished the series, but you don't have to I think. I invited my cousin to watch the movie with me and she never watched the series, but she completely understood the movie and actually liked it to. So yea I think you can.

Edit: Forgot to add that the movie isn't really like starting where the series left off, it's about one of the characters.

If u will watch the tv series then yeah u will notice alot of things regarding the future event and a few other things regarding the character but yeah u can enjoy the movie either way but I would recommend watching the series first so that ur able to grasp the concepts explained in the movie way more easily

Some lore, characters and context elements aren't explained in the movie as they've been explained already in the main series, but they are insignificant enough to not make the movie confusing or hard to understand. If you watch the movie first try to remember details as certain side characters and their abilities are explained only in the main series, and some events from the movie are referenced in the main series

but i got the news that movie is releasing in cinemas just 2 days back and i have my own circumstances to not able to watch whole tv series

and u know anime movie dont screen in theatres for two long and i even if i start tv series now i wont able to finish before pvr put JJK 0 out of cinemas that's why i thought to just watch movie first then watch tv series at my pace
i used to binge a anime a lot before but now it's seem impossible to binge anything

I went to the theather with my friend that had watched a few episodes of the JJK s1 but she wasn’t as into it as I am, as a manga reader that got obsessed with the characters and stuff. So she barely remembered what the anime was about and I tried to sum up my knowledges of the show for her. However, I believe the movie introduces the characters quite well and explains clearly all the dynamics for people that aren’t familiar with the show.

You can watch the movie as a stand alone. That being said the experience of watching the movie would be much better if you have watched JJK beforehand. It’s only about 8 hours so I would recommend watching it the next 2-3 days

same here but i read light novel
i can easily read 2 volumes in a day

maybe bcz we both are still relatively new in manga and light novels as compared to anime
