This is better in my opinion as it expands the world a lot more and focuses on other villages other than the hidden leaf and has better action. The villains are amazing in part 2 (a part from one) and honestly has the overall best antagonistic force I have seen in battle shonen so far. Just everything about it is better than part 1. The only thing I would so is worse in part 2 than part 1 is that the filler is more spaced out so it is harder to traverse through and sometimes you think you have missed something canon when it is just talking about past filler events. It would probably be in my top 10 I liked the ending more.

Look shippuden is not at all bad and like every series it has its own bad moments that are unnecessary fillers and insane powerups. The tale of jiraya the gallant,the two brothers ,pain invasion,gaara's kidnapping,5 kages and reunion of kushina with naruto are really good arcs . The only downgrade for me was the war arc though it also had its moments and it is 2022 by the way,so u can google the filler arcs and just watch the cannon.Now after all this if u don't like it,you can drop it. In my opinion shippuden was better as og naruto's story was boring for me after sasuke went to orochimaru.

They are both original, calling one of them original makes it seem like shippuden is duplicate, usually people like og naruto because of nostalgia but shippuden is better in terms of fights, antagonists, arcs except a large amount of fillers. Well Shippuden is the continuation of OG Making it overall series, so i usually don't compare them.

shippuden is superior (no filler), shippuden deals with multiple themes with superior execution, excellent philosophy, numerous religious references, excellent psychological characterization of the characters and superior characterization of characters, extraordinary twists , best fights, etc.

I think one of the main reasons Shippuden is rated much higher is because it's a sequel to a long series so most haters will just drop it in the first season.
Another reason being is that it's length gives it a huge advantage on its score. Mal only counts scores of those who've watched 1/5th of the series, that means people need to watch around 100 episodes so that their score counts and most haters will just drop it before getting to that point.

Yes, the original Naruto series is better than Shippuden.
I'm going to make several spoilers so those who didn't see Shippuden better not read my message.
1 - Secondary Characters: Kishimoto used to pay attention to most of his secondary characters. Later, characters like Kiba, Lee, Neji or Hinata became one-dimensional when they were three-dimensional in the beginning. The worst is when Kishimoto decides to kill a character before he can do anything in the plot.
2 - Kishimoto's obsession: Characters like Naruto and Itachi began to benefit from the script. And not to mention Sasuke: the boy has like 5 story arcs starring him and they are all bad. Sasuke in general is a nefarious character and the fact that he is so important lowers the quality of the series a lot.
3 - The fights: Naruto's fights were very unique and interesting at first (my favorite: Sakura and Chiyo vs. Sasori), but the further the series progresses, the stronger the characters become and the power level gets out of control. The last fights of the war are a totally boring festival of mecha and fireworks. 4 - Women: I don't know why, but Kishimoto has something against women in his manga. Compared to men, women always kept a low profile in the series and with a few exceptions like Tsunade, Chiyo or Sakura, Kishimoto never gave them a moment to shine. This is made worse when you see how the women take on a "submissive housewife" persona in parts of the series. I'm not accusing Kishimoto of being sexist, but this is still suspicious.
5 - Badly written characters: Kishimoto is a genius; the guy knows how to write character arcs, but I can't forgive some cases like Obito or Kaguya or the aforementioned Sasuke. The presence of these characters lowers the quality of the work too much as they are such important characters.
And there are many more things that I PERSONALLY hate about Shippuden, but the message is already getting too long.

No shippuden is far better, the characters get better development, the music is more matured and the real story begins to unfold. Don't listen to bullshit opinion and go watch it.
It has it's flaws but you can unsee them.

Shippuden rating is higher because it suffers from the syndrome of the sequel, where the hype of the people for a sequel boosts its ratings. That’s the same for Dragon Ball Z, where the original has a much more cohesive story, DBZ on the other hand only try to achieve the wow effect loosing quality in writing. This situation is Shippuden in a nutshell: the original tells a much better story, with compelling characters, nice action that doesn’t compromise the quality of the story and the flashback effect that is cut to a minimum. Shippuden on the other hand, puts in the trash can the quality written side characters, often using them for big portions of the story (especially the fourth ninja war arc) without flashing them out in a way that’s actually satisfying (the only good side character is Shikamaru), and it focuses only on Naruto and Sasuke (which are not written greatly either) and the villains Obito (and the dicotomy with Kakashi) and Madara, before deciding to erase completely his character because Kishimoto didn’t know how to get rid of him. Instead of good writing and story telling Shippuden makes consistent use of flashback in a very tedious way, always trying to grab the people by making them forcefully sad and emotional. Sometimes it works, but it’s not a trick that can carry 500 episodes of a show. The story itself until the end of the Pain arc is actually still really good, but then, where those problems become really relevant in the fourth ninja war arc, it drops in quality, and the Kaguya arc is basically introducing the Sayans in Naruto because the author don’t know what to do with the story. I’m talking as a big Naruto fan, but especially as a fan I can’t ignore its big flaws.

higher score cause people who liked og Naruto watch Shippuden and score only counts when you watch 1/5 of the show. og Naruto is better then Shippuden

It’s weird that you call part 1 original. It makes it sound like Shuppuden is a remake or something.

But to answer your question, yes, it is better.
Better action, better villains, better animation quality. But, to be honest, it’s not that better. The main character development was handled not in the best way, the final arc is just… it destroys a lot of things that were built-up before. But Shippuden is more dynamic, so you won’t notice some problems at first. And you will get a lot more positive emotions for the same reason.
Overall, that’s great show to watch with the best world among all shōnen anime, that I’ve ever seen.

Quite the opposite
Shipuden is better in every way

Characters get way better development
The annoying Naruto comedy mostly stopped thankfully
Akatski comes in for real in shipuden
It's way more entertaining because the stakes are very high in shipuden
Everyone is grown up Wich is always a plus
The plot of shipuden in general is far superior

I can list more honestly but I'll leave it at this

Well Shippuden loses a lot of it's dark themes and is far more simple with it's themes than the original, every villain will explain his simple ideology and gets defeated etc but I still enyoed it since there are some great moments. The end was disappointing tho

Am I the only one pissed Naruto didn’t end up with Sakura? I am not a Sakura fan by any means, but it does not make sense to me that he ended up with Hinata and Sakura ended up with Sasuke when he showed zero interest towards her throughout the show. Maybe I’m missing things from the manga since I didn’t read it, but still. It was clear Naruto was in love with Sakura in both the original and Shippuden

I think, a lot of people noticed that. Sure, Naruto and Sakura don’t fit, but their pairing does make sense story-wise. Naruhina fans can appeal to an old sketch by Kishimoto and say that he planned it all along, but no, I don’t believe it. Their relationship was born from nowhere. And Naruto and Hinata don’t fit too. But it is the most popular pairing, so I suppose I don’t understand something in this world :)

I think the battles are better but at the same time they destroy the anime, in naruto it was more about tactic and stealth, like real ninja, in naruto shippuden it was more about big explosion, things like finger techniques and weapons are less important

yep og was better... a bit stretched out at times but was overall very balanced/consistent. Shippuden imo is like a wave with its fair share of peaks and lows. It later got repetitive and ended miserably.

shippuden is a combination of some of the worst and best ideas in anime. like a 7/10. Naruto is perfect if you stop after the Sasuke fight. 10/10
