Is this anime popular in Japan based on viewership ?

Since popularity in mal doesn't mean that only less people watch the anime in tv in Japan. Ex. Kingdom S3 has a very low popularity in mal,but in Japan it was one of the highest viewed show in tv at the time it was airing in Japan

I am asking this question because, the producer of this anime is a tv channel,so this nime getting a second season is based upon how many see when airing.

Tomodachi game is not that popular in Japan. Some people know it, some people didn't just like here in western part. It actually has a low rating but since it's getting an anime, the amount of viewers and readers is gradually increasing. I can't say the same with the manga sales though. I wanna see a sales evolution for it.

The anime is alright but there are some people who say that it’s ripping off Squid Game even though it came out before Squid Game was even made by the creator
